I'm sure it was a pain to deal with at the time but that makes a lot of sense to me! I'm honestly a little surprised it's allowed in the first place, but I'm glad there are proper precautions in place in the event that someone has to travel alone for one reason or another.
(And, honestly, that sounds like it'd be a fun adventure to me! A scary one, but an adventure nonetheless.)
