Nearly 40 years after the Sun City protests, how many even remember why so many artists refused to go there, and even what it was in the first place?
(I do, but because I remember the calls for freeing Nelson Mandela and other anti-apartheid protests of the day. Sun City was a resort run by the government of South Africa specifically meant to have international talent perform there amidst the segregation.)
