Kad got her paws on Indiana Jones and the secret of the Sphinx during a middle east trip. Bored, with her friend Lupus, she came up with the idea that what if the book was true just like in Journey to the Center of the earth, and convinced him to sneak out with her.

They "borrowed" a horse from a nearby stable but were barely a mile from town when members of a nearby caravan saw them and took the horse. Both cubs tied up and tossed in a wagon after a scuffle that left their assailants bitten and scratched. Kad whispered to Lupus "just like in the book, black robed devil worshippers." This worried Lupus as they came into a desert village after a few hours. A man in an ornate robe approached as they were pulled from the wagon "sorry for the rough treatment, horses are valuable" he spoke in Arabic, leaving both cubs with confused expressions. They were taken to a hut and left alone, stripped of her water gun and Lupus of his sword.

After the city settles down, Kad and Lupus gnawed each others ropes off and snuck out again, as they tiptoed around buildings, Lupus saw his sword and Kad's toy gun laying near some other weapons, Kad's gun lay in a puddle, empty. Lupus showed Kad then cautiously went to get his prized sword back, on tiptoe again to avoid waking a sleeping guard. Kad took her gun back, but her eyes caught sight of a shiny black one that looked just like hers and took it too. "Heavy" she said to Lupus, putting her water gun in her pocket. They snuck out and a Building that stood out from the rest caught both their eyes, unable to resist, Kad dragged Lupus in and stared at the walls before a stick in a place of honor caught Kad's eye. "What's this? Why do they keep an old stick, its rotted."

She pulled it out of the dais and examined it, "its just a stick." The young bunny started waving it around and giggled "make it rain." After a few seconds she gave it to Lupus "stupid stick" little did she know, outside it did began to rain ice over the town and lightning with thunder. Spooked, she said "lets leave before someone comes" but lightning flashed and showed the ornate robe man in the door way. Kad froze and backed into Lupus and the man approached "we did not expect the one to awaken the staff to be so young" in English! Lupus tried to hide the tall staff behind his back and pointed at Kad "she did it!"
