The central region deep into the interior of the continent would have a very hot climate due to being on the Equator.

And because of the size of the land mass, that puts the central region way further away from any ocean, thus making the central region even hotter.

The central region would also probably have way less annual rainfall than the regions that are within 1,000 miles of an ocean.

True, though I was restrained with the desertification since many examples of large arid regions (Sahaara, Australia) only became deserts due to human activities
