I woke up feeling pretty out of it today, my cold/infection still hasn't quite dissipated, so I ended up forcing myself to draw SOMETHING... and started with a crappy sketch of Kaneda's bike from Akira... then the larger Vic Viper there, thanks to all those gorgeous Lego Vic Viper models and the Gradius series -- which I only just discovered, thanks to those Lego Vic Viper everyone seems to have been building... awesome games, btw -- but I was still really not feeling it...
... and then I thought of my character Ace, the Space Horse Racer, again... which is pretty ironic, because he was kinda spawned when I rediscovered the WipEout series and then noticed the frequency with which I used the name ACE for my high-scores on Lylat Wars... heh. I drew that previous pic with my damned mouse, and it certainly took a hell of a lot longer than this one did, using my tablet! X3
I may have gotten a little carried away sketching Ace, enjoying Led Zeppelin's album "Mothership" too much while I scribbled this up. Someone brought home some pies just as the 2-disc album came to a close, so after a quick snack-break I was back to the sketch.
With this song looping in my head for reasons unbeknownst to me, I touched up some details on the sketch and then another kick-ass Viper with a slight Star-Wolf vibe and a rough scribble of my STO char's Light Escort later...
... this is the result.
I guess those Vipers are attacking that crudely drawn Federation starship, as Space pirates do, of course. Now I believe I'm back on my game, I can get back to working on some more important things. Take that, art block! ... although for some reason I feel like watching Akira, and other cyberpunk anime... the only ones I have, though, are Ghost In The Shell and Appleseed... plus an old VHS copy of an Appleseed that I got from a local video rental store a few years ago. Oh, and Cowboy Bebop. Damn, though, I have crap-all anime! D8 Needs more! MOAR!!
