Character Description
Kaali is a 3'3" tall Avali.
Personality
Kaali is very loyal to her packmates, and is most comfortable amongst them and her friends. Around strangers, she can be slightly reserved while the Avali tries to feel out their vibes She prefers to be laid back and goofy with others. She doesn't really get along with overly serious folk.
Likes/Dislikes
Kaali likes working, relaxing with her pack and fruit based dessert.
She does not like pickles, people who take everything seriously, being lectured or condescended to and the entire Avali Illuminate.
Background/History
Kaali and her sister, Stacia, hatched from the same egg. Said egg was subject to genetic experimentation by the Avali Illuminate. The hens were born with a natural resistance to a wide range of temperatures, the goal of the experimentation. The hens were abandoned when the research labs were shut down due to internal strife among the senior staff and the Illuminate contacts.
The two hens were raised by other successful subjects from the program, Kaali grew up learning mechanical and bio-mechanical engineering from the pack leader, Naoli. By accident, Kaali activated a malfunctioning mech the pack had been tasked with repairing. Upon reactivation, the mech destroyed the outpost the pack had been living in and left Stacia gravely injured. The pack chased the two sisters out, leaving them alone and destitute. Kaali used what she had learned to repair a shuttle to make it to civilization.
Kaali worked very hard to feed and care for her crippled sister, resorting to some shadier methods of acquiring money and supplies. Once she could afford it, the hen built her sister a new arm and leg. The pair would then roam the stars, Kaali offering her mechanic services, while Stacia took up bounty hunting. The two became a formidable pair, managing to even steal a proper space ship from pirates. As they gained reputation, the Avali Illuminate wanted to reclaim all subjects from the experiments, the Illuminate sending agents out after the sisters. For the most part, they evaded capture barring a few close calls. They continued to travel about, their reputation allowing them to form a crew. They named their ship the Avali Defense Force "Duskstar", allowing any who opposed the Avali Illuminate to join their crew.
While aboard the Duskstar, Kaali created an advanced form of Nanite. Every Avali born to the Illuminate has a Neural Uplink and Nanites in their body. Kaali had altered hers to work exponentially more efficiently and effectively. Cuts, bruises, broken bones, illness all being remedied in mere seconds. The Illuminate would learn of this upon reviewing combat footage between the ADF and Illuminate Agents, only increasing the bounty the Illuminate had on her even more.
On a routine scrap heap salvage with her crew, Kaali uncovered a strange artifact. She would take the artifact back to her labs and begin to research it. For a small, spade shaped object, it was infinitely complex. Through a mistake, Kaali sliced right through her finger with a tool, and though it healed nearly instantly, a small speck of her blood was dropped inside the artifact. The artifact sprung to life and revealed itself to be Biometal Model S. It spoke to Kaali, taken aback by her appearance. Model S explained to her that she had accidentally registered her DNA with it, adding her as it's only Biomatch. This had reactivated Model S, and granted the Avali the ability to equip Model S' armor through the Meta-Encapsulated Granule Awareness system, or M.E.G.A System. When held aloft and activated by Kaali shouting "Megamerge!", Kaali dons the Model S armor, granting her enhanced strength and speed, allowing her to fire explosive energy payloads shaped like playing cards from wrist mounted emitters, jet boost about and become invisible. It can also function as a space suit. Model S also has a unique feature, the Copy Card ability. With a quick scan, Model S can copy properties of other weapons or equipment and apply them to either Kaali or her cards.
Adding more and more to the crew, and even adding non-Avali to her own pack, Kaali continues to explore the stars and become a thorn in the side of any Illuminate Operatives. Even though they take the title of Pirates, they still offer to help those in need.
Relatives/Family
Stacia is Kaali's Biological sister. Kaali cares very deeply for her sister, and is always improving her bionic arm and leg to ensure that Stacia stays safe on her bounty hunting missions.
Cipher is Kaali's mate. The two fell in love after Cipher asked to join the crew and by coincidence spent plenty of time together. Kaali loves to just be around Cipher, often following him about to just listen to him talk in her free time.
Byrnhildr is a Biotic Brachydios. He is an ex-slave turned Security Captain aboard the ADF Duskstar. He cares deeply for Kaali, and is overly protective of her.
Somnus is a Magical Spirit Dragon. He is a Prince, heir to the throne of the Kingdom of Renaloan. He stowed away on a shuttle during a survey being conducted by the Duskstar crew, but was fascinated by the world beyond the sky.
Eryll is a Corvid Wyvern Hybrid. She is a Ninja, hired to retrieve Prince Somnus from his alleged kidnappers. She joined the crew as Somnus convinced her to be his bodyguard.
Clothing
Kaali is a nudist. She typically doesn't wear clothes. Occasionally, she will "borrow" Stacia's cloaks or Cipher's shirts. She will wrap herself in Somnus' cape, to his great annoyance. If need be, Kaali will Megamerge with Model S, donning the Model S armor.
Accessories
Kaali possesses an Omni-Tool. It is embedded in her wingfeathers, and manifests as an orange holographic display around her arm. Model S also sits in a holster around her waist.
