This is a piece I did for my Fundamentals of Design class. We had to research an artist that inspired us, so I chose the artist that originally got me into drawing: Wayne Reynolds. Tia and Salo were inspired by the artwork for the cards "Wild Nacatl" and "Ajani Vengeant" from the Shards of Alara Block in Magic the Gathering. presented here is all of my previous artwork for the couple in chronological order of their creation. The background was my main focus, since the artwork was essentially completed beforehand. I imitated the background style of Wild Nacatl's art, with foliage on the border receding to a less-detailed background. the ground is a composite of several forest floor pictures from an image search, but the leaves are 50% composite, 50% brush with bevel and emboss effects.

This is also an early example of my colored lines technique.
