A few days have passed since Robyn revealed her secret to Gaeb. The family had been getting ready to move out of the area and continue their cross country traveling. Robyn and Gaeb were sitting together admiring the view of the meadow, and the silent ambience of light wind brushing across the plant life as birds flew and chirped above them. As they sat quietly appreciating the beauty of the forest, Robyn turned over to Gaeb giving him a friendly nudge, resting her head on his lap as he looked down to see her gloomy expression. He gently pet her as gently as he did when they first met, asking her if she was going to be leaving soon. Sadly, she nodded. There might be a chance of them returning to the village, but who knows how long that would be, or if Gaeb would even remember her by the time she returned. It was a very difficult decision to make, one that would define the rest of his life. The butterflies in his stomach turned as he was really nervous not knowing what would be the long-term effect of this decision. But Gaeb truly valued his friendship with Robyn, wanting to spend more time with her as possible. It was risky, but a part of him believed it could be worth it, and he didn't want to spend the rest of his life wondering what could've been. He took a deep breath, exhaled calmly, and told Robyn that he was interested in joining her. Her eyes shot up in surprise as she sat up to face him. She was confused and nervous about why he'd want to make such a drastic decision she wasn't prepared for. Gaeb mentioned however that it made sense. He never really belonged in one spot for too long as a wandering orphan and he was always interested in travel and exploring the world. He figured it'd make sense if he had someone to join in on the adventure, someone who shared his fondness for travel and wanting to see what was out there. He just wanted to receive Robyn's approval first as he didn't want to be a burden. She communicated to him through body language (seeing as how she was a wolf) that she wasn't against the idea. But there were so many complications for making it work. He wasn't a wolfwalker like her and they were always moving around never staying in one spot for too long. She was concerned that Gaeb might not be ready for such a big decision. Gaeb understood how she felt and pondered for a moment, thinking if there could be a way to make it work. And then he had an epiphany. Maybe it would be easier to travel with a family of wolfwalkers if he himself was a wolfwalker. He asked her if she could make him one, making her raise an eyebrow. She tried telling him how it would take a lot of getting used to and how the method for becoming one might prove to be discomforting. Though Gaeb was nervous about it, he figured it would be beneficial for both of them. This way the two can always talk instead of having to read her body language as a human. Nervously, she looked at him wanting to know that Gaeb was absolutely certain of this choice. Though Gaeb didn't know what the future would hold, he figured it'd be worth it to spend time with Robyn every day instead of waiting for her to come back to the town, He nodded, giving her a reassuring smile, as Robyn let out a nervous sigh. She slowly bared her fangs, showing Gaeb the process of becoming one of them. His eyes shot up in surprise, not expecting such a drastic requirement to becoming a wolfwalker. But hopefully the process wouldn't require her to bite down really hard, just enough to mark his arm. Taking another deep breath, he rolled up his sleeve, held out his arm, and gave Robyn the ok to nibble on him. Slowly she moved her head forward until her open jaw met with his arm. Closing her mouth at a slow pace as to not hurt him, she gently dug her fangs into his skin. Gaeb let out a groan of discomfort feeling her teeth stabbing him, feeling a tiny leakage of blood running out of the bite mark. Robyn slowly released her grip on Gaeb's arm and whimpered sadly as she saw the tiny blood marks from her bite. Feeling guilty about hurting him, even if just by a small bit, she licked his arm hoping it would remedy the sting. But Gaeb didn't mind the discomfort. All that mattered was the company of his best friend, placing a hand on her head reassuring him of this new revelation in his life. Whatever happened after this moment, Robyn and Gaeb could only hope that they wouldn't regret this final decision to stay together.
