Welcome everyone to Otter ASMR. This is ASMR by otters, for otters. [Pauses, considering.] But even if you're not an otter, I guess you can listen too.
[Pause.]
My name is Ollie, and we are going to be exploring some of the every-day sounds otters get to bask in.
Come with me down to the shoreline, where we can hear the flow of water.
[Fade in babbling brook.]
Listen to the stream babble along peacefully. Think about being in the home of otters. River otters, sea otters… all kinds of otters. This river is near the ocean, and you can just hear it if you listen closely.
[Very distant waves.]
Think about water, the element of life, as it flows onward. You can put your cares on the current, and the river will just wash them away. Us otters do it all the time, that's why it's so easy for us to play.
[Clam shell rubbing, clacking and tapping mixed through this following portion of the talking.]
Can you hear that? That tapping? I've got a nice pair of clams in my webbies. Think about how nice it would be to take a little rock and knock them against it. The sweet clam meat inside is just waiting for you to break in…
But what I can also do, is get some tippy tappies and fun clicking and scratching sounds when I rub them together. You can feel the rough texture on top when I do this. Listen carefully.
Thinking about clams sure has made me hungry. I'm going to put these away for now.
I have something else though, for those of you who really like mouth sounds. I have some nice crispy fried fish.
I caught it just a few minutes before the start of this recording, so it's really fresh. I already double-fried it with breadcrumbs to make it extra-super-crunchy. I hope you aren't hungry, too. I would give you some, but if I tried to push it through the holes in the microphone, you wouldn't be able to hear me munching. <Giggles.>
This fish looks really good, so I'm going to dig in for a couple of minutes. You don't mind, do you? [Pause.] [As if replying.] Good!
[Crunching eating sounds, "aahs", vocalized munching for 2 minutes.]
Mmmm, that was a good lunch, but my webbies are all covered in grease and crumbs. So let's wash them off together, and you can hear me play with water. I have this bottle, too, so we can make some bubbly sounds.
[2 minutes of swishing, splashing, and pouring water.]
Oh I think I got you a little wet. Let me dry you off, ok? Here we go, got a nice dry washcloth in my little webby paw, and I'm gonna dry you off.
[Soft towel noises.]
How is that? All nice and cozy? That's good. I sure do like playing with you. Come on, let's go down to the river and sit. We can listen to it for awhile.
[River ups in Vol. Slow fade that takes 1 full minute. End.]
