WARNING: Slight spoilers ahead in the write-up. So read at your own risk! :-)
Being a well known celebrity after the war had its disadvantages. Taylor couldn't go anywhere on a whim without permission. There were certain countries or locales she was forbidden to vacation to. There was always someone around to 'watch over' her to make sure she was 'safe.' However, she liked to call it for what it was: an invisible prison. Apparent freedom to do whatever she wished, but under the surface, she could only do what they allowed her to do. She was a symbol now - their symbol. She couldn't just up and disappear on them. They needed her to publicly be on their side to help promote their new law and order. As long as she was at the forefront of their campaign and seemingly living her best life now under their rule, then everyone else would look to her and follow suit. Sometimes though, she would use her network of friends and family who decided to reside back in country with her to cover or lie for her family as they went to destinations unknown together - as a unit. She wanted private family time with her young cubs and loved ones and she'd go through illegal means to get it - consequences be damned.
I am going to write as if they are not. Because as a child, you grow up and learn what is 'normal,' you learn to internalize what is dangerous and what isn't. Ahya would treat their cubs with such gentle care and love that Taylor's kids would grow up knowing she is a benevolent caretaker and would love on her just like they would her mom. Only as they get older when they realize that what their mother has is not normal would they begin to question it. However, by then, those fond memories of their early years would still remain. :)
