About 28 years ago, cubs started being born with the Glow. Parents were freaking out at the glowing amber eyes and spots on their babies and how at first they seem to age rapidly. As time went on, the true effect of the glow became clear. Aging would start fast but slow to a crawl around 3 years old. Scientist estimated the rate of aging as y equals the square root of 3x with x being their age in year and y being their physical age. Here we have Collin and Cyrus Wicker, brothers who are 27 and 28 respectively. It's hard to believe that Collin is only one year younger but there is photographic evidence showing his slowed aging. There's yet to be any record of newborns without the glow and it's very possible for everyone being like Collin in the future.

Huh, fascinating lore.
Also, Fuf did a good job once again, these two look really cute.

Imagine having a sibling that's only a few years younger than you but you look old enough to be their parent and later grandparent.

Yeah, that would be trippy.
Also, I just reverse-engineered the age formula, and a character with The Glow would look like an adult after over 100 years. They'd still look about 12-ish at almost 50 years old. It is some truly interesting lore, I gotta say.

I thought of getting a piece showing they tend to die "young" in their 70s while looking 15-ish due to the glow "running out." But then I lost my job and need to find another.

Damn, that SUCKS. Hopefully that gets sorted out soon. Best of luck!

Pros: you gonna look younger for long.
Cons: the first fifty years of your life no one will take you seriously.

Are you planning to develop the concept further?

Probably not. I commissioned this awhile ago. Since then, I lost my job and am currently trying to find a new one.

Here's a fun fact for you about this world. The Glow acts like a timer. Most Cubs of the Glow seem to die in their 70's while looking 15-ish because the glow "runs out."

A bit sad they die so soon, but on the other hand I'd paid for having such a young look my whole life. Thanks a lot for this info, it really runs my imagination. Could I make a story based on your world?

Tolkien described his Elves as having the light of the stars ever in eyes and in their hair. It could really be seen at night.
Hmmm...
