Loom's species, the Kemiies, are much more advanced than humanity that they have no concerns about the potential pollution that has pooled up around their new potential garden world. In some cases, they even find it useful. The 'greenhouse effect' for example that Loom has been hearing about sounded fantastic in concept but in practise has led to way too many hot summers and not enough water.

You can actually cheat that pretty easy. Plants die to salt poisoning because they can't move. If you rinse the salt off then water her really good after a short time at the beach, preferably in early morning or late evening, and she'll be fine.
