Geoiya Craft Works of Planet Niyo introduced the SR-8, which is the successor model to the SR-7.

The SR-8 is built on the same basic design as the SR-7, but with several improvements.
The most notable improvement is braking motors.
With the predecessor model, SR-7, reducing speed in the vacuum of outer space is accomplished by turning the craft backwards and thrusting the main motors (On a planet with an atmosphere, slowing down is not an issue as air resistance will accomplish that).
With the SR-8 being equipped with braking motors, slowing down in outer space does not require rotating the craft 180 degrees and thrusting the main motors.

The accessories controls integrated with the control pedestal is another improvement in the SR-8.
That innovation places all controls within a user friendly reach of ease for any operator.
Also, the support to the SR-8's control pedestal is offset, thus giving an operator comfortable uninterrupted leg room.

The seat back supports are also more user friendly. The supports are outboard in the SR-8, thus out of the way.
That eliminates occupants having to move their tail around the seat back support when accessing the seat.
Some of Geoiya's design engineers had commented that the seats should have always been that way in the SR-7.

Performance is also slightly improved.
The SR-7's top speed from zero within one Niyon zyle (1.6 Earth seconds) is improved in the SR-8 with a slight edge of 3 billion mph more over the SR-7, giving the SR-8 a speed rating of 22.9 trillion mph from zero within one zyle, compared to the SR-7's 22.871 trillion mph.
Another factor of top speed in outer space anyway is the duration of thrust...In space, an object in motion stays in motion until other action is employed. Continued thrust will also continue to produce higher speed, thus potential top speed can not really be assigned a specification.

Fuel range is also slightly improved from 347 light years with the SR-7, to 350 light years with the SR-8.   Fuel range stats are from test results conducted by the Sirius Interplanetary Energy Institute.
Of course fuel range varies with amount of planetary stops made, and longer thrust duration for higher speeds.

As is with the SR-7, Geoiya Craft Works hales the SR-8 as also another one of their mile stone models.
