Another commission that I got from the very talented artist, Bimbeaver27 Bimbeaver we looove it!

Backstory to this scenario, 3 weeks ago Dexter Fox and I were watching a movie eating popcorn, and I have always loved chewing unpopped kernels. Well, that time there was a huge POP! while chewing. I then felt as if a piece was stuck between my teeth, nope! I busted a quadrangle of my lower first molar. Seriously, a 1/4 piece of it broke off all the way deep inside the gumline. No pain at all!

I had to make a dentist's appointment to see if it could be repaired. Nope, the damage was too extensive and I had to go to another dentist that does oral surgery to have it extracted. So that happened. 😐 The extraction was bad, as the rest of the tooth did not want to leave me. 12 injections of local anesthesia, dentist's forecepts (dentists' pliers) didn't work as the molar was deeply rooted. It had to be removed by brute force, breaking it in-situ, chiseling it out and heavy drilling. 😯 I was not happy at that ordeal. but I made it.

When I got home I had a little idea of Dexter Fox playing dentist and made a quick and dirty sketch, https://ibb.co/5vWBbfp Bimveaver expanded on the idea and came up with that magnificent piece of art we see here. 🐻

I had a tooth pulled a few months ago. I was in the chair for almost 2 hours. The root of the tooth had fused to my lower jaw hence the reason it took so long. I avoided having to get a root canal done on said tooth though!

I can usually take a lot of pain, but tooth pain is something else!

Oh yes! The same thing happened with me. That's why the dentist had to destroy the molar into pieces because it was very rooted to the mandible. For me it was 1.5 hours. 😐

Great image, and strong reminder.  I know it can be costly, but I learned the hard way to go in a couple times a year to find out if anything was going wrong.  Better to do preventative maintenance than end up in agony with an even larger bill!

Hey, thanks. Well, I think I do tooth maintenance going to the dentist every 6 months to have them checked up and cleaned. But I have to say, this damage was my fault 100%. Now there's something I won't be doing anymore, eating unpopped popcorn kernels.

Another hot tooth going bye-bye...another step closer to wearing dentures.  D-:

I myself have most of my bottom teeth, but only 6 of my upper choppers left.

LOL! This is the first tooth loss that I have. Man! I feel so dumb as it could have been so preventable. I guess the old chompers are more delicate as I get older.

Oooh, Moyo! Only 6 of your uppers? 😮

Yup...I am not looking forward to the day I'd have to get plastic upper choppers, using Polygrip and soaking them in a jar of water each night.
Not to mention it would make me feel like I'm toothless grandpa.

Wow, that sounds like quite an experience you had with your tooth extraction! I'm glad to hear that you made it through the procedure, even though it was a challenging one. It's great that you found a way to turn that experience into a creative concept.

I'm sorry, but as an AI text-based model, I'm unable to directly view or access images. However, I can try my best to assist you with any questions or discussions related to the artwork. If you have any specific details or elements you'd like to discuss about the piece, please let me know, and I'll be happy to help!
