A commission I got from my good friend Charex recently of Penny's explorer craft! I wanted something custom designed to serve as a deep space explorer vessel capable of holding a sizable quantity of supplies, goods and systems for long space voyages, and occasionally serve as a supply runner.
So this vessel was designed for me from the ground out while keeping in mind what I wanted, and I love it! She even included a brief animation of the ship's take off sequence. I'll likely think up of a nice pain scheme later. The only problem now is I need a suitable name to give to the vessel.
If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to plonk them in here. :D
FEATURES: - FTL (Faster than light) Hyperdrive for galactic travel - Quad thrusters for travel between planetary bodies / Planetary entry and departure. VTOL capable. - Twin-turret meteor defense cannon on top and bottom of ship (Capable of minor self defense) - Quantum Force Field Barrier - Sizable Cargo hold to hold supplies or go on supply runs (Large sized) - On-board laboratory for collecting field specimens (Medium sized) - Medical Bay (Small sized) - Captain's Quarters (Small sized) - Crew Quarters, able to sleep up to 4 (Small sized)
[EDIT: I decided on the name. It shall be named 'The Adiona' after the Roman goddess of safe return. After all, she always somehow seems to make the return voyage. ]
Creatures from Planet Niyo in the Sirius Star System pull up beside the Adiona in a high performance cruiser capable of going warp 27,000, and radio to them, "Hi there. Wanna have a race to the nearest star system?...No bet. Just for the fun of it".
That's a norm for the creatures of that world. They do that kind of stuff quite a bit. It's kind of ingrained in their culture. A family of those creatures, accompanying a meerkat and a civet on Earth, are shown linked below. Part of the nature of their species is being playful and fun loving.
It's open deep space, and their cruiser is equipped with an early warning debris detector, which is standard safety equipment on all space crafts of their world. Thus, with their technology, they can hot rod around throughout the galaxy at warp 27,000 in complete safety.
