The Summer Flower Festival is a tradition of the Katta, wherever they are. Once the flowers are in full bloom, they give thanks to Nature for the new life and growth after the lifelessness (in their opinion) of winter.
There is no true winter in the desert city of Shapier, but the celebrate just the same, giving thanks for the life-giving oases scattered about the desert, as well as the large river that Shapier is nestled up against. In celebration of the new growth, Katta typically make changes to their lives or resolutions for improvement during the festival.
Chaaya, a human with a Katta soul, is preparing to leave Shapier after this year's festival, to hone her magical talents and discover who she truly is. Shema is overjoyed that her "sister" is confident and strong now and hopes to see her again one day.
