I've been wondering what species Sage would be.  I thought of making her a fox, but I think the franchise has enough foxes.  I could've made her a lynx, but she would've been seen as a copy of Nicole.  Then I remembered that people thought Sage was somehow related to Infinite.  So, I made her a jackal to pay off that idea.

Sage's jackal form has white hair and fur.  Her eyes are still red with a white ring.  She continues to wear a black cloak.  And parts of her body still have red wireframes.

Wanting to tie up loose ends, Eggman sent Sage on a mission to retrieve the Phantom Ruby copy from Infinite's chest.  Sage accomplished her mission with relative ease, right before encountering Tails the Fox...

hm.... this looks like "What if" Sonic Forces was a Success.
and the villain " Infinite" truly died and Robotnik try a relative of Infinite as replacement.

OR.... the alternate plot that Infinite is a early version of SAGE and SAGE is the perfect.
a perfect lifefor......... i mean... Perfect Artificial lifeform.
