Wow hard to believe how long ago I did some of these. This one was done when I was on a Skyrim kick. ^^

"Dear Sister.

Hello from the Province of Skyrim! We finally made it up here and I must say the land itself is quite impressive. The mountains here are astounding. I've ventured up a few in my explorations. I even visited a place that the local Nords hold a great Reverence for. It's some sort of temple or Monastery where numerous elder men live. Apparently they study and perfect the art of Shouting. Not shouting like an argument but in the means of harnessing magic of a short through one's voice. They call it a Thu'um. The voice harnessed as magic in a way similar to what Dragons have been known to do. Speaking of which I actually saw one! Thankfully it was from a distance. I was traveling up steps to the Monastery in question when we saw one soaring off in the distance. That said the trip up the mountain steps wasn't uneventful. We ran into a frost Troll and well my staff and magic got a bit of a work out. I say we as he trip up was technically a contract. I offered up my skills to someone else making a trip up the Mountain Steps to deliver supplies to the Monastery.

Anyway after the visit to the Monastery on the mountain I stayed at an in and I've heard about a place called the College of Winterhold. It's quite some distance to the North. It'll be a long trek no doubt but I've decided to walk it. For the moment I'm renting a room from an Inn within the walls of the city of Whiterun. Though the Holds here seem reluctant to let our people's caravans within their walls they are less worried about a lone individual. Perhaps it helps that I took a few bounties from the Inn Keeper and cleared some nearby bandits. They were hold up in a mine just northwest of the city. Quite the fight but it did net me a decent bounty. Beyond that there was also the gold I liberated from them as well as a few books they had on hand. One of which is a Transmutation tome I've been studying now. This is certainly turning out to be quite the adventure. I don't know what exactly lays before me but I look forward to finding out.

I'll be sure to keep you informed of my exploits and condition. For now it is well. I've taken a meal by the fire and listened to the bard. Now I sit in my room hearing the faint sound of the patrons outside as I write. It's invigorating. Be sure to give Mother my love. I hope you and she are doing well. Perhaps I'll send a parcel next time. A touch of a far away land for the two of you. Oh and of course my love to you two sister. I don't know where I'd be without you. Again take care. I'll write again soon and if you wish you and mother can write back. Simply send it to Whiterun. I'll make sure to stop by the city often enough to pick them up. But until then.
