Being a grown-up sucks ass, and today I'm in a mood where one could fear that the stress of existing will catch up to me.

Drawing Dalia to cheer myself up is a gamble. If I fail, it just makes it worse.
This worked out alright. Here's to hoping stuff blows over soon.

One might notice an "overweight" among the characters shown above, decidedly providing an "extreme", where I promised only "golden ratios". Marian, Duchess, and Aurora are all gentle nobles tucked away safely in marble towers.

Dalia would naturally have some "edge" to accompany her cunning eyes; there is some alley cat in her, which might come from these characters not shown above.
- Marvel's Black Cat, for the "wrist cuffs" when she isn't wearing gloves
- Rita from Jungledyret Hugo, whose shaggy hair and natural eye-liner may be ever so slightly present in the emo-like bangs and narrow eyes
- A girl I was irrevocably in love with who shall not be named

And yeah, as some might recall, when canon-appropriate, her full name is

Now that's where you're wrong, my friend.

I am always interested in learning the background and the design documents of the signature characters of artists. This is the stuff I live for. Nerdy and unapologetic. XD

Dalia is a beautiful character and her blend of the best features of such beautiful characters who came before is a marvel and really gives her a great combination of lovely things. I love these submissions and the ones in which you make art tips, and so do the small group of traditional artists I am in contact with. Your art tips are very useful and simple to follow.

Thank you for the attention.
There's an unfortunate trend these days where being unapologetic is labeled as "cringe".
In Denmark in particular, there is an underlying cultural norm of humility, colloquially reffered to as "Janteloven".
Here, it would be decidedly embarrassing to refer to something you created as "perfect". But eh, after having nudged her proportons into place for ten years, I'll let myself have that one.

I'm glad that there are people who find the art tips useful. I'm trying to my best to limit the number of people who take some sort of pride in not being able to draw.

I admit, she is very lovely. I always enjoy seeing her in pictures because it's fun to see her 'purity' she exudes get corrupted by various naughty things she is doing in the images.

Alas, in the post I fail to excuse why I spend so much time taking perfection back *from* Dalia. You can attain a sort of pride by placing perfection on a pedestal, but if you want to tell a *story* about something perfect, subversion is the only interesting way to go.
It is absolutely underrated how much of the power in a corruption-fantasy comes from the juxtaposition of "broken" next to "pure". Too much porn understands that corruption is a goal, but fail to remember the inclusion of any purity.

Loved the description, loved even more the expression within a 'furry' face that yet shows enough relation that she comes across as an alien who emotes rather than uncanny valley. :)

Yeah, giving the impression of realism while avoiding the uncanny valley is a science onto itself.
I've had a lot of fun (and frustration) learning to draw the face of something that doesn't actually exist and make it look appealing.

An idealized non-character who appears as both Ruth and Jezebel at the same time and can be readily inserted into whatever setting the artist may wish to portray at the moment--that's essentially 99% of the female "characters" on this site, but unlike the rest of them Dalia is honest about it instead of pretending to be original doughnut steel. Isn't it odd how that makes her seem more like an actual character in the things that she appears in?

Her collar has your address on it... Speaking of 99% of the characters on this site, have you noticed that none of them have more than the most superficial traits that their supposed species possess? It would be fun to see Dalia just be a cat. In that vein, maybe you could have her give dead finches to her friends and family for their birthdays while looking oh so proud. Or you might have her, while shopping for a new keyboard, walk back and forth on all the display models at the electronics store to test them.

It *is* an interesting phenomenon, very hard to explain, but sort of crucial to understand subconsciously when working on creative "concepts". A "cliché" only grates the viewer if it gives the viewer the impression of laziness. Do the cliché well enough, and you've suddenly made a subversion, standing on the shoulders of giants. Put too much effort into being "unique" and "original", and you stray from poetic relevance altogether, because your result is an incestuous product regurgitated by you, for you.

As for making Dalia more "cat"? I've done it before, but I have less interest in drawing feral art most of the time. I'm personally much more fascinated in the symbolic and poetic aspects of animals. To a cat, this often means scarcity, independence, and shiftiness. While not the focus of most of the porn I draw, you should read the novels I'm writing.

Well, I'll wear that shoe. My Panda girls do have personalities and traits that shape the stories they appear in, except when I really want something else -- but being Pandas was about the last thing I decided, mostly because Pandas were a bit rare back then (7 years ago, or maybe I was looking in the wrong places). They like bamboo leaf smoothies and can sleep outdoor in the snow, that's about as far as their pandaness reaches.

Interesting. So she's more of a character-type in your mind?

I actually do something similar with the pixel-art character sprites in my games and stories. They're more like actresses. In each game they'll have a different personality. Sometimes patterns emerge, but not on purpose.

Most OC characters (furry at least) *are* effectively simply actors. I've rarely seen artists adamant about sticking to one "canon" when shuffling their characters about. And if the details are interchangable - well - then there are no details. This thought is probably scary to some creators, so they pile details on their character sheets. But to me, it makes Dalia a piece of music as ingrained in nature as bird song. I honestly don't know that "archetype" or similar terminology fits what I mean to say. I simply like the thought that she is an aspect of artistic expression, temporarily sitting on my windowsill.
Oh right, "muse" is probably the right word.
Add that to your next cringe collection, if you're collecting.
