This is the KSWS News report the Rhonson Coyote Family watches on Channel 8 in the mornings 60 years ago.
KSWS broadcasts from near Roswell, New Mexico. The Rhonson Coyote Family (Al and Marge and their cubs Jed, Rex, Donna and adopted son Clarence) resides in Duran, New Mexico.

Back in the day, television stations went off the air late at night. Then they came back on early in the morning.

Pics # 3 and # 4 show a test pattern that aired before regular programing began.
When the pattern first aired, a tone sound would air;

I was from northwest Kenya near Lake Turkana, not far from the town of Lodwar.
My family was fairly well to do compared to most folks we knew, so it wasn't all that bad for us.
The reason we came to the U.S. was when Kenya was getting it's independence from the UK, China and the Soviet Union had their eyes on Kenya, like they did other African countries getting their independence at that time.
Kenya never did buy into the communist doctrine of China and USSR, which I'm glad they didn't.

oh yes i know about those times from my grandma she still has that very nice Zenith tv from back then she told me i would have really loved it the sound was always staticy on windy days and yes i really loved it like that im glad me and my family recorded a lot though the years on hundreds of vhs tapes my dad told me even in the 70's at midnight most channels went off the air even ehre in America and especially in Sicily also,thank you Mi Amico i know my BFF would love these as well he loves classic Analog tv rabbit ears tv also a lot.
