Guess who's back~?

Computer's up and running again and with it, I figured I'd close out the year with another round of Donkey Kong December. With the most titular Kongs out of the way, I turned my attention to the supporting cast, namely the funky-fresh Kong himself, Funky Kong.

With most of the other Kongs, I didn't take too many liberties with their designs. In the case of Funky though, I wanted to overhaul his design as he's little more then surfer DK; I get why in the case of the SNES era, it was easier to reuse assets but in this day and age, there's no reason that Funky should be practically identical to the leader of the DK crew. In order to do this, I changed his species since the Kong family has little to no variety in it. Save for Diddy and Lanky, they're all gorillas plus two chimps, so for Funky I made him a Siamang-(the apes with the air sacs that make the loud wooping sounds)-I felt this worked well for an over-the-top, garish character like Funky and immediately showed off his personality more.

As always, I'm not trying to say I'm better then anyone here. This is purely my own spin on something, just as a fun artistic exercise, the last thing I wanna come off as is pretentious or that I know better then the characters' creator. In any case, hope you enjoy it.
