The tavern sits close enough to the railroad yards to hear the clanging of bells and the shriek of whistles, yet is far enough away to provide a shelter and respite from the clattering cars and hissing engines. Aptly named “The Watering Hole,” It was a small establishment, purposefully kept local and out of the way, its wood paneled and newspaper-wallpapered walls known mostly to railroad and steamboat men.

Scamp and Angel have drifted in, and are enjoying a little time together before the next assignment. Time to unwind, share stories, and have a drink...or two...or three.

However, someone else seems to have noticed. One might detect a hint of envy in the air.
