I hate twitter. I've hated that accursed site from the moment I discovered it. The culture is toxic, the userbase acts like children and the site is awful, AWFUL for both artist and followerbase functionality and I truly hope the fandom migrates elsewhere, somewhere better, somewhere less toxic and less elon musk'y

That said, I'm sorry. Especially to those of you who invested yourselves and your potential career into Twitter. It sucks having something you care about go up in flames and you have my sympathy.

I hope you hit the ground running and take off to new heights on a better platform.

In the meantime, feel free to enjoy my shitty comic uwu

twitter was awful far before elon musk got it. Dont blame him for the crap thats been going on for years n years.
Im waiting to see what he will do with it honestly.

Im aware, but to say he's done anything but harm thus far would be silly >w>

that probably depends who you are.  Getting rid of the people who literally did nothing but absorb tons of money and do no work can only help the company
Cubba

well he also got rid of the people with the money so two birds one stone xD

He has even used it to perpetuate harm upon the trans community. All because his wife left him because he is a cunt. Good on her, her new girlfriend seems nice. (Also she's trans!)

On the one hand, I agree.  When it comes to him it seems like no matter what he says, however stupid or awful, you have to wait until the dust settles to find out if the results will be better or worse.  ... On the other hand:
- "'Aight all staff sign this pledge to work at least 40 hours a week or you're out on your ear with three month's severance pay."
- 3/4's of the 8,000 or so staff now appear to have taken the severance option

Oh no. work full time normal hours. Insted of making 200k on 6 hours of work. Ohh noooo. I'd work that in a heartbeat. Especially for that pay  XD

Especially at Twitter. What kind of work do they even do? I'm sure there's some amount of coding involved, but do you need 8k people for that?

On the other hand, look at these working conditions. I don't know how anyone could handle working 40 hours a week at a place like this.

Oh aye, and I suspect that that many leaving was expected.  I just... I don't know, I think it's just further illustration of my 'won't know until the dust settles' theory.

except that muskywusky expects them to work 80 hours a week, it would have been 40 hours a week if he didnt fire half the staff, now half the staff has to work double the hours to make up for the lack in staff. Within that 50% of people fired was 75% of the SRE team, those are the people that keep everything running smoothly even when the code is broken and needs workarounds, you dont fire people from the SRE team if you want to actually keep your service running. I've also heard the incredibly worrying stat that at the moment there are no more furries working on the tech side of things for twitter, furries are incredibly present and skilled in coding and tech industry, if twitter no longer has any this means all the GOOD coders and engineers have bailed from the sinking ship
ScottySkunk

where does it say he wants them to do 80 hour work weeks? I havent seen any confirmed reports if it. I have heard its a rumor but i dont listen to those without evidence

Agreed. I've literally never heard anyone say anything positive about Twitter in the entire time that Twitter has been a thing.

Joke or not, I've had nearly this exact interaction with friends twice now, too funny.

Regardless of where Twitter goes, I'm excited that a lot of artists finally have enough reason to leave a platform that was a terrible fit for their purposes in the first place. It may be painful, but at the end I'm confident that the community will be much better off once everything settles. There's more important facets to a platform than sheer user count, and now maybe more artists will pay attention to those things, rather than sacrificing it all for views.

Couldn't have said it better myself uwu

Yeah I was really surprised with how many people use it for that. Its a terrible format for artists. But I guess it was working at least well enough. Hope something much more useful for them comes about!

gotta love how many folk are going off about FA/IB cause of the people on it/mods/owner

Like.

Bitch who isn't awful? Where you gonna go if you're holding out for perfection? Even Twitter was toxic garbage where if the wrong people caught whiff of your kink (no matter the kink) it'll go viral and raided

But THAT is better than FA/IB?
Like good luck finding better. We're furries, we arguably *are* part of the outcasted bad people even without getting near "problematic kinks". We make do.

Still love the comic tho~

Its sad to see how many people will turn on eachother at the drop of a hat to avoid losing meaningless social clout that no one cares about. That highschool lunchroom mentality unfortunately never leaves for some people.

Glad you like my dumb doodle uwu

People abandoning ship, thinking the grass is greener on the other side seems pretty common. All it takes is some research before they make loud announcements  on how they are are leaving. and they could avoid the drama.. though some people live on that. Personally im a "let people have their kinks, ill just avoid the stuff im not into" kinda guy

Sometimes the new car smell fades before you close the sale. Social sites are dodgy propositions at best. In effect one person sets the standard and everybody, employee and customer, lives by it. If you are a good match, it's a joy to be there. If not, it's all uphill until the cliff.

What's happening to Twitter should probably also concern youtuber careers as well. Your entire platform can be upended by one guy thinking he knows better than anyone.

Actually, that fits pretty much any platform, because there are really rich chucklefucks who refuse to leave their own echo chambers. And man, if there was anyone who needed to leave echochambers (outside of just generally everyone) it's people with power and influence.

remember when google bought youtube and tired forcing google plus on everyone? how much it sucked. Its usually one person eith too much power that ruins everything. remember skype?

So true. It's why I have always stuck with FA and IB (and Newgrounds). FA almost lost me once but that was many years ago and I decided against it.

It's kinda at times like these I wish IB had a sort of companion app. I absolutely abhor twitter but I know there's a lot of good people that use it, unfortunately only the negatives get all the attention.

Twitter, once a long time ago; was an okay website. It was just a goofy little gimmick. Unfortunately when the toxic people started moving in, that's when it went to shit. Any website, any social media, anything can be good as long as the community it's for works to weed out negatives.

And... exactly that is why I like IB. We're welcoming, for the most part little to no negativity shows up, and people actually put a fair foot forward trying to be nice to one another. But if we see something messed up, we make sure to let the administration know. Because it's our website too.

Its funny how the super kinky nature of this site works as a shield against most of the unsavory types that would spoil it

Pretty funny comic. I mean sure its only going to confirm anyone hesitant on making an Inkbunny account to just make a Mastodon or a meow.social just to avoid the hostility that inevitably awaits them, along with like the constant transphobia or the creepy pms that have not been fixed even to this day, but yeah really funny comic.

I use Twitter a lot, but yeah goddamn it's full of puriteens and cubphobes and others who cant separate fantasy from reality. Some of those people decrying this site actually have cub shaped skeletons in their closet but eh...

anyway great comic :3
