Ok everyone.......So it certainly has been a LONG time. This is my first time making & uploading fan-art in about 3 or so months now. And well, there's a reason for that. But first off, let me just say my apologizes for barely making anything these days. But the last couple of months have been extremely busy. For a number of different reasons. Not gonna go into it, as that's besides the point of the drawing. But I've been so physically busy, that I ends up making me so mentally exhausted & burnt out. So because of that, I haven't felt like drawing these days.

But also, lately I've been struggling to figure out who I also wanted to draw next. As I have a lot of ideas. In fact, too many ideas. So much to the point where it's been putting me into an art block lol. So many different shows, different characters, different scenarios & ideas, etc lol. Makes it hard to pin point exactly what I wanna make.

However, there was one idea that was suggested to me by a DA user. Who suggested to me that I draw two certain characters, coming from the cartoon series "Chucklewood Critters". And the two characters in particular being Rusty, and Buttons. But before we even get into how these drawings came to be, how did I get myself interested into this series?

Well long story short, I ended up getting interested into this series last winter or so. So, I've been a fan of this show/series for a few months now (at the time of this being uploaded lol). But before I got interested in the show, I have HEARD of it. But at first, I wasn't interested. But after exploring some screencaps of the characters, and finding some episodes online (to get to know the characters and the plot), that's when I started to gain an interest in the show. And well, the rest is pretty much history lol. And this show, is now one of my favorite cartoons now. As I love the characters, the storyline, the plot, etc.

And of course when I get interested in a new series, it's always my plan to make fan-art of some of my favorite characters in the show. And this is certainly no exception lol. But I figured at first, it wouldn't be for a while. As I had other drawing ideas that I wanted to try out. But when I had a DA user suggest to me that I should draw them. I guess that put me into gear to try & draw them sooner than I planned lol. But it still took me a while before I finally did end up drawing them.

But then one day, about almost a month ago I ended up having the house to myself for a few hours. So within those few hours, I was able to sketch out 10 DRAWINGS! 4 being of Rusty, 4 being of Buttons, and then 2 being of the two together. So, definitely a lot of work in one day haha. But, sketching the drawings is the easy part. What ISN'T easy, is darkening of lines & coloring them in. As that can be a tedious process sometimes. Depending on the character and background. As some characters are easier to color than others. And also some backgrounds & details are easy to color than others lol.

But usually when it comes to fan-art, I only try to focus on drawing the character itself. And I don't really include backgrounds in fan-art drawings. Because well, it's a lot more work that isn't really necessary lmao. As they aren't really needed when I'm just trying to showcase a character. However depending on the idea or scenario, sometimes I do include a background. But only if it's needed or (again) necessary.

But I digress. So one night I drew a total of 10 drawings. And then I spent the next two weeks after that, getting these drawings finished. And the coloring process took a LONG time to do. And given that this was my first time drawing these characters, the colors may not appear the best. As it's hard to get just right. Especially on the first try hehe. But, I got all of the drawings done within the span of two weeks. And it is now two weeks later since I finished them, and I'm not going to FINALLY start uploading them hehe.

So with that, let's get into this drawing! And the finished result. So here we have sketch 1 (of 4), of Rusty. From the cartoon/series "Chucklewood Critters". And for those who don't know about this character (or the show), I'll give a quick summery. So Rusty, is an young & energetic little fox. Who lives in a cave in Chucklewood Park. With his mother Rosie, his dad George. Who also share the homestead with Rusty's Bear buddy Buttons, and his mother (Bridget) & father (Abner). So, definitely quite a big "family" lol.

And in the show, you watch Rusty & Buttons as they go on fun & wild adventures. To help others, learn new things, or achieve a certain task or goal. Or, to just simply have fun lol. As they are kids after all. And there's also plenty of faces around in Chucklewood Park. As there's a lot of many different & unique characters throughout the series. Most notably, Frisky & Bearbette (who are step-sisters), Turner (a Turtle), Freddy (a trouble making Raccoon), Franklin (the Teacher of Chucklewood Park), Jonesy (the Park ranger), etc. TONS of characters in this series lol.

Alright, moving on. Now that you all have a tiny summery (without giving too many spoilers), let's get into the drawings. So here is the first sketch I made of Rusty. Just a simple mug shot of Rusty. Showing his cuteness hehe :3 He's such an adorable character. And he has the personality to match! As again, he's very energetic & hyper. But he's also very sweet, and generous too. Very likable character indeed :3

But anywho, what do you think? I'm definitely very pleased with how this turned out. Especially considering this was my first time ever making fan-art of this character :3 The colors may not be exactly precise, but as close as I can get hehe.
