Character Description
Bowie is the son of Razor the Shark and Sonic the Hedgehog, being one of the few hybrid species to have signs of both parents. While mostly shark, as he matures, it's clear he has some hedgehog influence in the form of his head fins having much longer scales, that appear as needles or quills. He even has extra fins, giving a somewhat hedgehog-like profile save for the fin on top of his head.
Bowie possesses insane speed just like Sonic, though due to his aquatic life refuses to wear zero-friction shoes, so he can't quite match him out of technicality.
Personality
Bowie tends to think on his feet, much like his parents, but has more of Razor's personality. He tends to speak quickly and shortly, ready to move to the next point, and doesn't like to waste time explaining things to people he isn't familiar with. Cocky with his speed, he likes to race both of them whenever he can. His relationship with Sonic isn't quite the same as Razor, due to the blue blur not knowing Razor had a kid with his genes until later in the child's life.
One thing he retains from Sonic is his sense of justice, fighting for what he believes in regardless of what others believe, sometimes coming into conflict with his duties in Meropis.
Likes/Dislikes
Likes: swimming, finding ancient treasure, fighting off pirates, racing Razor and Sonic
Dislikes: staying in one place for too long, meditating, using weapons, most transportation
Background/History
Bowie was born under mysterious circumstances. As a shark, Razor did have the potential to carry children, but the situations where a male would become female were complicated and rare. When Bowie was born, he and Coral took care of him, only noting the more hedgehog-like features a few years later.
To the present day, Razor has no idea if it was caused by a random fling, or from some sort of outside interference. He refrained from telling Sonic about the child until they all met once, and Sonic coaxed Razor to spill what made him feel so awkward. The realization the child was partly his at first had him concerned, but after a lengthy talk, Razor convinced the hedgehog Bowie wasn't something Sonic needed to worry about. Between Razor and Coral, the hybrid was growing and learning well, allowing Sonic to take a backseat as a sort of 'cool uncle' type.
Under their tutelage, Bowie would grow into a fine warrior and also shrine guardian, though he clearly inherited Sonic's need to run and explore, prompting more meetups with Sonic for Bowie to race against.
Once in his teens, Razor came up with another way for Bowie to burn energy, as a messenger. With the oceanic waters causing communication to be tricky, the young shark was an easy way to get messages between cities in the Great Blue Zone.
