Character Description
Nimbus is a hedgehog hybrid of uncertain origin. The scientists cannot determine if they are more dog-like or cat-like, but the indication of Sonic's genetic code is obvious from their green eyes and purple quills. At first referred to as male, they quickly became uncomfortable with a specific designation, resulting in a nonbinary address. They possess Sonic's speed, and a propensity to cause large electric shocks upon take off.
Banquo is a fox who was born with five tails, much to the confusion of Tails and the scientists. He is the most bizarre of the group, possessing skin of a pseudo-crystalline nature. It retains a gemstone quality, and can harden upon impact. According to studies, his chest has a small hole and his tails are hollow, allowing a strange purple flame to emit from his body and tail tips. The flames are not hot, yet absorb energy from those in close proximity. When attacking, he can breathe out a hotter variant of the flame to cause damage.
Pulsar is a hedgehog-dragon hybrid, his genetics causing him to be quite tall, with an equally lengthy tail. He has insane amounts of energy and does not require sleep, but has been observed taking a nap with Banquo, the two sharing a unique connection. While he does not possess the powers of telekinesis like Silver, he can still fly, and project energy waves. He is considered the leader of Team Catatumbo. Strangely, though, he has not only the ability, but the craving, to eat meteorites. It seems his body is able to absorb and use silicates and metals as a form of nutrition.
Team Catatumbo as a whole functions well as a group, with Nimbus as the muscle, Banquo as the brains, and Pulsar as the leader and backup. With their connections to Sonic, Tails, and Silver, they maintain a good friendship with them.
Personality
Nimbus is hotheaded and reckless, prone to bouts of rage when in a heated fight. They tend to think with their fists and powers first. While usually they get out of situations fine, such recklessness resulted in them losing their arm in an early fight against Eggman. They prefer hands-on solutions to problems and have no qualms about picking fights. Retreating from them is considered a fool's game, unless you can fly.
Banquo is considered almost emotionless, but he isn't. Due to the fact his body relies on external energy, he can be tired if he hasn't absorbed energy. This is mitigated by him hanging around Pulsar, the hedgedragon serving as his battery. He is cursed with a nearly flat expression as well, so only his tone can convey his emotions.
Pulsar is both playful and serious. However, as much as he takes charge, he often finds himself being stressed and overworked. It seems Banquo is the only one who can keep him calm. Messes with his fluff when nervous.

Background/History
Team Catatumbo was formed by a group of eclectic scientists in Soumerca, who were worried for the safety of their village and others after a series of Eggman attacks and other raids.
The organization had been experimenting with Chao Eggs to try and get them to hatch outside of the garden, as was said to be possible, as well as studying mysterious batches of genetic material found preserved underground. In a moment of inspiration, they requested samples of DNA from Sonic, Tails, and Silver, who happened to stop by.
Two samples were injected into each egg, and in a stroke of luck, the eggs hatched only a day later. The results stunned the scientists and the heroes, as the beings seemed to take on their likeness, but with unique attributes from the genetic material from the mountain.
The hybrids seemed to show a remarkable intelligence, being immediately aware of their surroundings, and soon mimicking the scientists and heroes alike until they were taken back for studying. It was clear the species they came from did not develop the same way sapients did, their bodies and minds developing in a matter of days. The scientists quickly sorted out their names based on their unique traits and abilities, before training them to become the defenders of the town.
Despite one of their first true fights causing Nimbus to lose their right arm, they've fended off various attacks, and garnered a reputation for being reliable and determined warriors.
Relatives/Family
Despite Sonic, Tails, and Silver providing DNA samples, the hybrids are not genuinely considered their kids, but they have a strong bond all the same.
World/Setting
Team Catatumbo lives in a smaller town in Soumerca. Despite not being as iconic as the town of Mazuri, their hometown is growing in recognition for their presence. It is home to a group of scientists who previously worked for G.U.N., who now conduct research into the mysterious fossils and such underground.
