Mario was cool with camping. He only ever did it with Chris because it was something that they tended to bond over. Chris hated being dirty and was very much not a fan of sleeping in the wilderness but being around Mario often made him feel strong.
Mario, on the flip side, enjoyed Chris’ company just in general. He also found that Chris was just really good at keeping things organized. Lists for camping equipment and the proper way to handle injuries or burns were all things that were tough for Mario to keep memorized. Having him around to be all efficient with his endless lists was a godsend.
This particular day wasn’t a normal camping trip though. It was a dare.
The legend of the White Wolf was something that had plagued these grounds for years. People didn’t seem to fully take into account how odd of a story it was.
A boy was cursed one day when he very cruelly shot a den of wolves and their cubs while they were sleeping for no other reason than he could. The curse plagued him and turned him into a full fledged werewolf every full moon. Every other day and night, he would need to hide under the cover of the forest lest his skin burn away from the sun. At night it was usually better but being a creature of the darkness had little perks for one who used to be human.
It was said that anyone who could go out and capture this wolf would gain infamy the likes of which the hunting world had probably never seen before.
To this, Chris had to say, “We’re not hunters though! I thought this was just a normal camping trip?!”
Mario grinned, hoisting his backpack over his shoulder. “It is… sort of. I’m the one who’s going to handle that side of it. You just need to make sure that if the wolf slashes open my stomach, I don’t die.”
“But I’m not a doctor!” Chris panicked.
“It’s fine. Just spit on the wound if it gets too bad. Works every time!” Mario beamed with happiness.
“I never spit on your wounds. I use ointment and medical alcohol…!” Chris stammered.
“Alcohol is medicinal?” Mario blinked.
“It’s not THAT kind of alc-nevermind. Look, can you at least explain to me why we need to spend the night on a full moon THIS deep into the woods?” Chris asked as they reached the entrance to the forest. It was still day time.
“Duh. Because the wolf doesn’t come this close to the entrance. Too risky,” Mario said. “To get at it, we need to go in deeper and make sure we come out victorious!”
“Har Har Har!” a mocking voice came from behind them. Mario scrunched up his face, a tad annoyed as he turned around.
Behind them was a blonde Texan boy with a cheeky smirk on his face. Beside him was a smaller kid, looking a bit annoyed as he played a game on his Nintendo Switch.
“If it ain’t my rival Mario. So you took up my offer to face me in a glorious rematch for clout and dignity by seeing if you could capture the White Wolf eh?” The taller, main boy said.
Mario grinned and put his hands on his hips. “Absolutely. I never turn down a challenge Tod.”
“MY NAME IS TAI! TAI! GODDAMIT!” Tai snapped, screaming his annoyed little lungs out at this boy who had sentenced him to a year in diapers at his little brother’s behest. Standing beside him was his little brother Eilijah, looking uninterested in this nonsense.
“Right, sure. Anyway, I’m glad you like having competitions in things other than boxing,” Mario exclaimed. “You’re probably a lot better at this so it might be more of a challenge.”
Tai’s face went extremely red. He actually dribbled a little in the diaper he was wearing out of sheer frustration. “You… YOUUUU! GUH! Yeah, well, at least my best friend isn’t some neat freak dweeb!”
Mario looked confused. “Wait, is that your best friend?” He pointed to Eilijah.
“No! That’s my little brother!” Tai snarled. Yes, the one who diapered him after Mario beat him in a single punch thanks to a bet he made with this bored looking kid.
“So, your best friend is your little brother?” Mario asked.
Tai blushed. “NO! How could he be?! He diapered me, the little–!”
“Your little brother diapers you?” Mario asked.
“BECAUSE OF YOU–!” Tai tugged on his hair.
“I didn’t tell him to do that. I’ve never even met him.”
“GAAAH!” Tai was just getting angrier.
Elijah swatted Tai on his butt and made him jump a bit. “Stop screaming. You’re acting like a baby big bro. Let’s just go.”
Tai snarled. “Hmph. Whatever. I’ll leave you losers to it then! Eat my shorts!” Tai grinned, pointing at his camouflage patterned shorts as the two of them entered the forest from the opposite way. “The one who captures the White Wolf will be declared the winner!”
“Absolutely! See ya when I win!” Mario said, turning and heading in.
Chris shook his head and sighed before turning and following Mario.
He’d brave the elements and the dirt and grime to hang with his best buddy just like always. What could be different this time?
—
Oh yeah. The dense forest and the scary moonlit night could be different. That wasn’t sitting right with him.
Chris sat on a stump, shaking and shivering with his hands clamped onto his arms. The tent was set up, sure, but his attempts to get a fire going weren’t working like they usually did. Each time he got a match lit the flame would get blown out by a strap gust of wind. It sucked.
Mario, meanwhile, had grabbed a large tranquilizer gun and was stomping off into the woods.
It was midnight and the full moon was out. Chris was happy to help with the camping part but flat out refused to go off hunting any wolves. He wasn’t sure if the White Wolf was real but he’d rather not risk it.
Mario said, “Suit yourself. You can share in the credit when I capture it though. You’re the best morale booster a guy could ask for. Go team!” He said with a double fist pump and went on his way.
Chris sighed with a smile on his face. He sat there, alone, with a dog leash at his side. Apparently, Mario was planning on putting that on the creature once it was captured. It seemed a little odd but whatever.
He was more than sure Mario could make something of this weird day… and in a way he was right.
Hours passed.
Chris settled down inside the tent and was about to nod off to sleep when he heard the sound of approaching footsteps.
Chris’ eyes darted open and he immediately pushed his head through the tent to peak at what was there. If it was an actual wolf he was certain he’d wet himself and hoped the smell would scare it away. Involuntarily of course.
Instead, Chris gasped upon seeing Mario!
He was on his knees and hissing in pain while grabbing his bleeding arm.
“Ch-Chris… need… the alcohol…” Mario moaned and fell over, onto the pile of sticks that Chris failed to get a lit with flame earlier. Good thing too. He’d have been burned by the heat left behind on the wood if he had.
Chris was panicking a bit but kept his cool enough to drag Mario inside the tent. A scene later, he was cleaning his wound and trying to properly wrap it. Each time he got a cotton swab dabbed onto the open wound of what looked like claw marks, Mario would whine and flail his legs about.
“Hold still!” Chris ordered.
“Ugh! But it HUUUUURTS!” Mario whined.
“How are you a boxer? You’re such a wuss when it comes to pain,” Chris said.
“That’s cause I so rarely get hurt,” Mario muttered, tears in his eyes.
Chris sighed. He couldn’t argue with that.
“What did this to you?” Chris asked.
“I didn’t see…” Mario muttered, shaking and sweating a lot as he rolled over once the bandage was on. “It just came at me in a flash and then I was on the ground… bleeding. I think I heard it growl. Maybe it was the White Wolf…”
“Well, if it was then it won tonight…” Chris said. “You’re not going back out there…”
Mario moaned and felt himself drift off. He tumbled a bit and buried his head into the pillow of the tent.
Despite how many blankets Chris was thrusting over him, he kept shivering a lot more. Chris was getting concerned.
He went to make sure the entrance to the tent was completely zipped up and while doing so, caught sight of the full moon blaring down at him.
The light was pretty strong. It even cut through the small opening in the tent.
Mario began shaking more violently. He was feeling really awful.
Chris went over to his friend and snuggled closer to him to try and keep him warm with his body heat.
“You’re freaking out dude,” Chris said.
“I’m so cold…” Mario whined. “I’m missing… something… like… a pelt maybe?”
“A pelt? What?” Chris raised a brow.
Mario clamped his hands on Chris, tightly.
“You smell really good tonight,” Mario muttered with a low growl at the edge of his voice.
Chris blinked. That was odd. He’d never been complimented on how he smelled before… at least not with such an intense undertone.
“Uhm… th-thanks?” Chris responded and tried to reposition himself but found that he wasn’t able to get away. Mario’s hands were clamping down on him strangely hard.
Chris grunted and wiggled free, roughly, but he managed to do it. “Your grip was way too tight. You were hurting me dude. What’s wrong?”
“Grrrrrnnngh…” Mario just growled, shuffling the blankets off of him as he felt his body start to writhe.
Chris’s eyes widened as he saw hair begin to extend across Mario’s body. He was getting poofier and his voice was eliciting a heavier snarl. Drool was pouring out of his gullet and dirtying the tent.
Chris grabbed their backpacks and hurriedly scrambled his way out of the tent to keep from whatever this was!
The instant he did, the front of the tent was torn through by a hairy paw with sharp claws attached to it!
“AWOOOOOOORR!”
Chris screamed in shock as out of the torn and destroyed tent burst a hairy Mario, now with his clothes bursting off of him and leaving him down to his Hello Kitty briefs.
“M-MARIO?!” Chris exclaimed. “Wh-Wh…WHAT?!”
Mario ignored Chris’ comments and barreled past him and into the woods, howling at the moon and letting out beastly wails into the darkness.
“Oh no… NO!” Chris stammered and chased after him.
Yeah, he was clearly a werewolf now but that was still his friend! He had to do something!
Chris didn’t like racing off into the darkness of the woods. Especially not this late at night. Mario being a werewolf meant the White Wolf did exist too! It could get him if he wasn’t careful.
Things were so stressful. Chris was looking around for Mario for what felt like 15 to 20 minutes before he stopped to catch his breath, clutching the leash tightly as if it were a life-line.
He then recalled a hill close by. It was the perfect place to get as close to the moon as possible. Maybe…
Chris rushed his way there. Thankfully, its high elevation made it easy to find.
He didn’t have to wait for long for his theory to be proven correct. Mario was racing his way there!
Chris grinned and spun the leash over his head like a lasso before tossing it and getting it wrapped around his neck.
“Now… HEEL!” Chris shouted.
Mario didn’t heel. Instead, he tugged Chris along. His monstrous strength surprised the boy and he fell onto his stomach and got dragged along the ground at high speed.
“AAAAH! STOP! MARI-OW! MARIO! QUIT IT! BLEAGH!” Chris screamed as dirt, rocks, twigs, and other stuff got into his face. His pants started to sag and get undone due to being dragged along so far and ended up pooling around his ankles.
By the time the two made it up the large mountain side, Chris was seeing stars and feeling like he was about to pass out. It was dark out so hopefully no one caught a glimpse of his rainbow pride briefs.
Chris was a bit shaken by how high they were. A drop from off the edge of this mountain side would probably kill anyone, even Mario as a werewolf.
Speaking of which, Chris had him in his sights now. He gulped and looked up at him with concern before speaking in a shaky tone of voice.
“M-Mario…?”
Mario sat upon a rock and howled at the moon. It sent a shiver down Chris’ spine but upon closer inspection… he looked kind of cute?
Mario was panting and drooling. Everything on him looked sharp; like it could kill him with a single stab to the chest. However, he looked like a giddy little puppy.
Chris was a bit taken aback but smiled and stood up to slowly approach him.
“Good boy… it’s me, your bestest friend in the whole wide world…” Chris said, holding out his arms.
Mario tilted his head in confusion. He was probably wondering why Chris was moving so slow. As such, he leaped forward and brushed his head into Chris’ chest before licking his face a couple of times.
Chris giggled and clamped his arms around him. “Okay, okay…! I got it. You’re a puppy basically.”
All of sudden though, Mario began growling. He sounded angry.
Chris pulled away, surprised.
At first he thought it might have been his fault but then he turned to look where Mario’s gaze was.
Approaching from the darkness they just left was a white furred wolf…!
It was bigger, wider, had sharper fangs, and what looked like two rows of teeth somehow! It was like a furry shark!
Chris yelped and scooted back, ending up behind Mario as he leapt forward to confront the beast. Mario was clearly protecting him.
“It… that’s the white wolf…” Chris muttered, stunned beyond belief.
A slight stare down happened between the two wolves… and then the white wolf leapt for Chris!
Chris reeled back in fright but Mario jumped into the fray and swiped at him! The white wolf was knocked back and growled even louder.
It charged at Mario in a vain attempt to push him aside. It had no interest in other werewolves. He wanted to eat. It tried to get Mario but the cut turned him into one of his own.
Mario didn’t care. He got in the wolf’s way and kept swiping and beating at him. The two of them were fighting around the top edge of the cliff.
It was getting extremely dangerous.
Eventually, Mario began to pant with minor exhaustion. The white wolf seized its chance… and tried to turn away from Mario to lunge at Chris again.
That was Mario's chance.
The instant it did so, Mario summoned up all his boxing skill and with a swift, vigorous fury swipe across the White Wolf’s face, sent it spiraling off the cliff and tumbling down to the trees below.
There was a sickening crunch and snap when it hit the bottom after its long fall.
Chris looked at Mario in stunned shock and silence before he grinned brightly and jumped forward to wrap his friend in a hug.
“Mario! You did it!” Chris exclaimed, the moonlight highlighting them both.
In a flash, Mario felt himself start to shake. He was feeling really heated now.
Luckily, the fur on his body began to slop off in matted chunks. The mass he gained deflated and he returned to normal…!
The two of them sat there at the top of the mountain in their underwear, overlooking the full moon before smiling at one another.
“I killed the White Wolf,” Mario grinned.
“That must be why you returned to normal,” Chris confirmed. “Do you want to take a picture so you can get that win?”
Mario shook his head. “Nah. let him win. I’m tired and I really don’t want to climb down this cliff…”
Chris grinned and gave his buddy a hug. “Me neither.”
Mario hugged him back and the two sat and relaxed amidst the moonlit night together.
—
The next morning, they exited the woods, a yawn at the edge of their mouths.
“Well, that was a bust…” Chris said. “Totally not worth it.”
“The tent was destroyed so it was super cold all night. Not to mention I burst through my clothes,” Mario whined, walking out in just his Hello Kitty briefs. Chris was fully dressed and rolled his eyes.
“Why did you only pack a single change of clothes?” Chris asked.
“We were only staying for one night! How was I supposed to know I’d destroy them?” Mario groaned. “I can’t wear your clothes since my muscles are too big.”
“That’s a lie and you know it. You’re just too proud to admit we wear the same size of clothes. My sleeves can fit your muscles just fine.” Chris said.
“But can they fit my legs?” Mario asked with a grin.
“Yes! You’re not THAT bulky! Just put on my pants!” Chris snapped.
They kept arguing for a bit before stopping when they came across a scared and panting Elijah.
He looked ragged and panicked, with his clothes torn and his Nintendo Switch gone.
“H-Have you guys seen my brother?” Elijah asked. “He never made it out of the woods!”
The two boys looked surprised.
“He didn’t?” Chris asked. “Well, no. We haven’t seen him. We were really preoccupied with our own stuff… uhm. Did you Mario?”
Mario shook his head. “Nope. Well, I think I didn’t. I don’t remember much of the time I was a werewolf. I do remember rushing off from the tent after I turned, really hungry, and then when I changed back I wasn’t hungry no more.” He said, patting his tummy. “Man. I’m still stuffed too. I must have eaten something big.”
Mario then burped and out popped Tai's camouflage shorts.
“Oh hey. I found a new pair of shorts.” Mario said with a grin.
Chris and Elijah just stared at him with their jaws dropped and eyes bugged out.
Mario looked back and forth between them with confusion.
“... What? You guys want to eat his shorts too or something?”

Mario was taking a shower, rinsing off the dirt and sweat of the camping trip. He felt sad that it was over, but he was reminded of how good a shower feels at the end of the day. His walk home elicited a huge amount of odd stares and pictures taken from smartphones. When his family saw him come home in just his "Hello Kitty" underwear, a blushing Ian wondered whether he should laugh or feel exasperated/embarrassed at his brainless big brother.
A swift wedgie from Mario was enough to eliminate any sympathy for his big brother. As he lathered himself, Mario couldn't help but think about the White Wolf's curse. Little did he know, the bathroom window was open and the light of the full moon washed over him.
Ian was in his lab, reading about the alleged wolf boy sighting from last night. An anthropomorphic wolf wearing the same kind of Hello Kitty briefs as Mario was spotted by some campers last night and was claimed to have been responsible for the mauling and disappearance of another boy.
"Awooooo! Howhowhowooooo!" Ian nearly jumped out of his undies at the sound of a wolf howling from upstairs. As he pulled his sagging briefs back up, he noticed the howling sounded like Mario's voice. "Is he trying to be funny?" Grumbling as he closed his lab coat, Ian went outside to tell his brother to stop disturbing the neighbors.
"Mario, could you please cease with your cacophony? The neighbors won't find it humor-" his tirade cut short in terror, Ian could only gape in fear at the sight: perched on the roof was Mario, clad only in a popping cloud of bubbles, covered in brown fur, his feet elongated into wolf like paws, a small stump growing over his butt, and ears grown into canine points. Mario was a werewolf.
Coming to his senses, Ian started recording his transformed brother as he howled at the moon before lifting up one of his legs and- "Aagh! Grossgrossgrossgross, I didn't need to see him lick his bits like that!" Ian screamed internally. Suddenly, Mario stopped licking his puppy peen and started sniffing with his canine snout, turning towards Ian's direction. As Mario took his time trying to find Ian, the boy genius was slowly walking back inside.
He wasn't fast enough, and Mario pounced on his baby brother. Gripping the back of Ian's underwear in his maw, Mario wedgied him and started shaking him like a squeaky toy. After a minute of vigorous shaking and a loud rip, Ian found himself landing face first into the wall, his bum pointed up. Picking himself up, Ian felt a breeze on his lower half and turned to see Mario shaking the bottom of his lab coat and Ian's very own pair of Transformers Rescue Bots briefs. Staring down at his exposed belly and naked weiner, Ian hastily covered his family jewels and picked up his still recording phone. "Oh man, what am I gonna do about Mario now that he's a Lycanthrope? I'll text Troy and Bourbon for help! Oh, and Chris too I guess," Ian muttered to himself
A few minutes after sending the video he took and posted to his computer, Bourbon replied with a, "Dude, u sexting your balls now? :P" Ian facepalmed, "I forgot about my nudity..."
Later that night Mario was taking a shower, rinsing off the dirt and sweat of the camping trip. H
