Indeed.
I don't take requests because everyone would want one and I'd have no time to do anything else.
I don't take art trades because people never put any effort on their halves.
I don't take commissions because people get really picky when actually paying for stuff, as they should.
And I don't take collaborations because they are boring and unbalanced.

that's most unfortunate that you've I'm assuming had experiences where people have short changed you on their half ... I guess I've been lucky to have gotten many great trades

Yeah for the most part ... but I've done collabs where I'm the top & where I'm the lesser , It's rather humbling to collab with some one of greater skill XD

Hello... so true I found that out getting a commission at the CAExpo in Calgary in 2011 the artist never finished but I do have the sketch up on my furraffinty page I guess... All she had to do to do a good background of SG1 was to get a Cheap poster of the gate room for reference and she never even did that... No pride in her work for Fifty Bucks for an 45 Min drawing. at my Normal job I work an 8 hour shift for 11.75/H and get 94.00CND I would have to work a Full week straight to afford what she was getting for that one Toned Line drawing. If we where going 50.00CND/ 45Min, that is 280.00CND for 8 Hours work from her...if we are running 1 day and if she worked 8 Hours and had one commission per hour.

The best thing is all of your reasons are legitimate and your choice.

Unfortunately, if you reach a certain point in artistic prowess people just assume that you can be bought.

I'll enjoy your art then, and not bother you with any silly requests. I came upon your gallery on looking around for interesting aliens as inspiration for writing, and found you have some very cool art in your gallery. I'll enjoy that which you have posted, and be glad that you have shared that.

That said, you got some very cool art. Looking forward to going through all of it and seeing what else you'll create.

Having talked to you, I really like you. But I'm not in it for art. If I'm still talking to you in ten years and you've never drawn a thing for me, I'll be enjoying talking to you.

But as I said, I've got friends who draw commissions - and oh, the stories I've heard...!
