Here we have me taking a trip to my favorite place to see my two favorite ducks! Limpy and Beau at Brahan Spring Park!
Limpy is what is called a Leucistic Mallard.
Leucism is the genetic partial lack of pigmentation and is different from albinism which is the complete lack of pigmentation. The female mallard is commonly brown with black spotting whereas this leucistic hen is predominantly white with brown spots.
Also, kept getting an odd vibe from the park. It has a large green metal storage building that you can tell has been there for ages. Also, a weird bit of concrete remains stretched out onto the lake. I kept feeling like this place had a history I should have known about.
After only a few minutes of digging, I realized the place used to have a small amusement park named Sertoma Playground.
Here is a video of said park, filmed in 1990. Interestingly they mention how the park can't compete with Opryland, as that park also no longer exists.
