Finding Information Of The Next Guardian Of Fire

(Couple of Days Later.)

“Now I can see why the pervious Guardians before us hated this side of the job.” Ignitus complained as he tossed away a scroll across the table he was sitting at before he grabbed a new scroll from the stacked pile of them with his right paw, “Finding new replacements sucks ass.”

Cyril grinned as he and the other Guardians were helping the red drake looking through old and new scrolls of finding a new candidate to replace the current Guardian of Fire and so far the red male was very much near to exploding.

“Just relax, Ignitus. We’ll find someone soon… I hope.” Cyril said as he picked up a new scroll to look and read through.

Ignitus groaned annoyed though, “I didn’t think finding a candidate to replace me could be this hard though.”

Terrador heard this and cut in, “Well with things the way they are now it’s no wonder we can’t find any information on future candidates for Guardianship. Every dragon of our realm are scattered around the lands or just recently appeared from hiding during the war with Malefor.”

The big green dragon, who sat behind Ignitus at other table with a pile of stacked scrolls on his table, put down one scroll he read through and then picked another one to read and look through.

Volteer walked up to the round table to the right of the red dragon’s table and sat down with his yellow wings folded into his sides as his yellow swayed on the stone floor of the room while he began to read the scroll on the table in front of him.

“Oh the joy of finding future candidates is so exciting, enthralling, enchanting and …” Volteer tried to finish saying before Ignitus across from him growled with annoyance from his throat.

“Volteer, my dear old friend. If you don’t shut up right now! I’ll jump over this table and shut you up myself and you won’t like how I do it either. Got that?”

Volteer just nodded in fear from the red dragon’s irritated and annoyed glare as Cyril and Terrador looked at each other and smiled and laughed silently between themselves as they both returned back to reading and going through more scrolls at their table.

Ignitus sighed with relief to himself now, “Speaking of candidates, do any of you have candidates to replace you in the near future?”

Nobody in the scroll room answered anything for the red male until a certain green drake did though, “Well I still have a candidate to replace me someday, but he’s told me he’s not yet ready for the job quite yet.”

This answer from the green male got Volteer’s attention now as he looked toward his mate, “Not yet ready, but he’s been ready for this for a long time now.”

Terrador nodded, “Yes, I know that and he doe’s too.”

Ignitus looked over his left shoulder and looked at the green back and wings of his old and trusted friend with wonder and interest in his red eyes, “I’m curious to know who this candidate of yours might be, Terrador.”

Terrador sighed rather quietly to himself this time, “He’s known as Rocker, he’s a young and kind hearted dragon, although he can be a bit of a show off though.”

The red drakes eyebrows rose in question and wonder now, “Oh yeah, who’s he showing off too then?”

Volteer cut in this time as Ignitus looked towards him now, “He likes to show off to the young and pretty dragonesses whenever they’re around watching him train or trying to impress them with his show of strength and character. He’s that type of dragon, Ignitus.”

Ignitus grinned, “Oh so he’s a ladies man is he. That doesn’t sound so bad.”

Terrador smiled just a tiny bit though, “I don’t mind it, but it has caused him to fail some of my advanced training with him though. Whenever there’s a group of young dragonesses or even just single one around watching him training or doing something else. He just has this need to impress them though.”

“Is he serious about being a Guardian though?” Ignitus asked rather plainly as he was reading through a new scroll.

Terrador nodded, “He is serious about it, even though he likes to impress some dragons he’s still taking the training of being a Guardian serious and well enough. He’ll make a good and fine Guardian of Earth one day.”

Volteer added his own voice into the mix, “Indeed he will be, Terry.”

Ignitus looked up from his scroll and saw the yellow drake reading very heavily into the scroll he was looking at as his yellow tail moved behind him while his yellow wings twitched a bit.

“What about you Volteer? Do you have a candidate to replace you someday?” Ignitus asked nicely.

The yellow male stopped his reading as he looked up and spotted the red drake giving him a small smile which made him smile back in return too.

“Yeah I do actually. She’s a bit adventurous and very curious about everything she wants to learn about. She’s fun loving, love’s to crack jokes, and can be serious when it comes down to training or fighting.”

Ignitus nodded, “Sounds like you enjoy training and teaching her about everything old friend. What’s her name if I may ask?”

“Oh her name is Alektra.” Volteer answered quickly.

“That sounds like a very nice name for her.” Ignitus said kindly.

Cyril cut in this time as he reading through another new scroll, “It is a pretty name, but don’t say it in front of her though.”

Ignitus turned to look over right shoulder and looked towards his mate and Terrador as they were still reading through some scrolls at their table.

“Oh and why’s that love, she not the dating type then?”

Cyril grinned, “Oh no, I’m not saying that Iggy. Let’s just say… that whenever a male or a group of them stare at her hard and long enough. She’s tends to… well… beat the shit out of them.”

Ignitus laughed, “Oh really. So she’s got a mean streak then huh. Has she ever… you know beat anyone in front of you or no?”

Volteer cut back in this time to fill in the blanks, “Well there was this one time where I, Terrador, and Cyril witnessed her beating up a group of five old dragon males and let’s just say the sight was rather… well…”

Terrador chimed in this time, “It was a bloody massacre.”

Ignitus laughed heartily to that, “She sounds like she doesn’t like being looked like a piece of meat then.”

Volteer frowned this time, “She’s doesn’t like being starred at like some sort of super model. She just wants somebody to like and love her for who she is and not for her looks and body.”

“I can’t blame her for that.” Ignitus answered honestly.

Volteer smiled, “She’ll find someone someday, but not right now though.”

Ignitus looked over his right shoulder once more and saw the blue dragon still reading his scroll on the table. As he was about to open his mouth to ask his mate the very same question he asked of Terrador and Volteer. The very same blue dragon beat him to the punch and answered his question for him instead.

“Before you even ask me Ignitus, yes I have candidate already and you’ve already met him in person too.”

“You mean Winter right, love?” Ignitus answered back.

Cyril nodded, “Yep he’s still my candidate and student to replace me one day as the Guardian of Ice.”

Ignitus smiled happily, “How is Winter doing though? Good I hope.”

Cyril smiled gentle this time around, “He’s doing very well actually. He’s got himself a mate and some eggs on the way too.”

This surprised the red dragon greatly as he remembered the young ice dragon always running around and playing with the other candidates and other young dragons his age. He also loved to learn about everything about the Guardians history and how they started as a group. Heck he even asked him the Guardian of Fire for some training too in the arts of dragon fighting. As the young ice dragon grew up more and more as time moved forward he soon became his second favourite student right after Pyro. Winter was a good, kind hearted, and mature dragon that would do anything for his friends, family, and everyone else around the world. Winter also told him and Cyril together they were his favourite Masters and was glad and honored to be trained by them both and loved the fact that he and Cyril were life-mates and that he approved of their relationship too. And now finding out that Winter had a family of his own with eggs on the way, he had to ask his mate now if Winter knew about his supposed “death”.

“Did you tell, Winter. About my death that is, loves?”

Cyril nodded and smiled sadly, “I did, he was very sad and actually cried for the first time in his entire life, but I recently sent him a letter to him telling about how you came back to life.”

“And did you get a reply back from him though, love?” Ignitus questioned with want.

Cyril nodded this time as he moved onto a new scroll with new information and details within it, “Yes he sent one back, Ignitus. He said, he’s glad that you’re back to life and is also happy that you’ve returned back to me too. He also says he can’t wait to show you and I his new family soon enough.”

Ignitus smiled gentle this time around, “Hmm, can’t wait to see him and his family soon too.”

Cyril nodded once more, “I’ll be sure to mention it to him in my next letter to him sometime soon.”

After all the talking and getting of track the Guardians returned back to their work as they read and looked through more and more scrolls looking for any information on future candidates for the Guardian of Fire, but so far the job for looking for decent candidates was beginning to look grim and maddening. As the Guardians continued to read and look through more scrolls, the blue dragon’s pile of scrolls on his and Terrador’s round table the top scroll slipped from the top of the pile and fell onto the stone floor and unrolled itself showing information and details some unknown dragon within it. Cyril looked to the floor and saw the unrolled scroll and huffed in annoyance of the messy sight of the unrolled scroll. The blue male got on all fours and went to pick up the scroll with his right paw. As he picked up the unrolled scroll with his right paw, he saw a picture and information and details of a red fire dragon named, Ignite. The blue drake placed the scroll onto his table and started reading through it as it gave him details and history on Ignite. Cyril read through the entire scroll from top to bottom as a small smile found its way onto his muzzle. As he finished his reading of the scroll, he looked up from the scroll and looked towards his life-mate.

“Hey, hot stuff. I think I’ve found a candidate for you.”

The red dragon’s head shot up quickly as he looked back to his mate and saw the blue male grinning at him. The red drake got up and walked towards the blue dragon’s table and then stopped in front of him and looked at him with interest in his red eyes while Volteer and Terrador walked up to them as well and now stood still as they waited to hear to what the two dragons had to say.

“Really, you did find someone love?” Ignitus asked questioningly.

Cyril nodded, “That I did, baby. Want to have a read and look for yourself?”

Quick as a snake striking their prey, the red dragon grabbed the scroll from the table and started reading and looking through it as the picture, details, and history of Ignite were written in it for everybody to see and read through. As the red drake read through the scroll from top to bottom of it his red eyes widen in alarm and surprise as he looked up from the scroll to everyone in the room as they themselves were looking at him in question and wonder.

Terrador chimed in softly this time, “Something wrong, Ignitus? You look like you’ve seen a ghost or something.”

“Yeah Ignitus, you okay?” Volteer asked quickly and worriedly.

Ignitus looked towards his mate Cyril and saw him smile sadly at him and nodded back to him.

“The dragon that’s on this scroll is actually my younger brother, Ignite.” Ignitus said warmly to everyone as Volteer and Terrador were shocked and surprised by this news while the blue dragon just smiled at his mate.

“I haven’t seen or heard from him in over a hundred and 50 years.” Ignitus said rather plainly.

Cyril cut in this time, “He recently arrived in Warfang just a month and a half ago with his family and friends which is written on the scroll itself. After his home village was smashed and raised to the ground by the Dark Master’s forces during the war.”

Ignitus looked at his mate this time, “Have you-you… seen him though love?”

Cyril shook his head, “Sadly no, and Terrador and Volteer themselves haven’t seen him either as well.”

Ignitus sighed to himself, “Well, that doesn’t help me one bit.”

“Actually, there is one thing that might help us.” Cyril said.

Ignitus and everyone else looked at the blue dragon right now with question and were curious about it now.

“Oh, what might that be love?”

Cyril grinned, “Well, it’s only a rumor that I’ve heard, but it might point us in the right direction. There are rumors going around in the lower part of the city were the middle and lower class live that dragons and moles have seen a red dragon that looks exactly like Ignitus working and helping dragons and moles in rebuilding the city, but looks 600 years younger, stronger, capable, and is quite good looking to as well.”

Ignitus deeply sighed, “It may be a rumor, but to me it’s still worth checking out though.”

The blue drake walked up to Ignitus and reached out with right paw and gently touched the red dragon’s right shoulder and squeezed it with his claws as the red dragon looked toward and locked eyes with his mate.

“I think it’s the right call, Ignitus. It may be a rumor only, but it wouldn’t hurt to know if the rumor is true or not.” Cyril said truthfully and honestly as he removed his right paw from his mate’s right shoulder.

Terrador decide to chime in to of course, “He’s right, but let’s not forget too that this rumor might be false and misleading as well. After all most rumors tend to be false and only bring false hope and wishes?”

Volteer nodded at the green dragon’s wise words, “Yes, he speaks the truth Ignitus. Most rumors tend to led nowhere with no goal or mind in sight, it’s the same with tales and stories I’m afraid.”

Ignitus sadly smiled, “I know that much, but still I’m going to check this one rumor and see for myself if the rumor is true or false. It’s the only lead I’ve got right now.”

Cyril cut in this time, “I’ll be going with you hot stuff and besides I wish to know how my brother-in-law is doing with his life right now.”

Ignitus smiled lovingly at his mate, “Thanks, love.”

All four Guardians smiled at one and another as Cyril sat down and gently grabbed the unrolled scroll from the table with his right paw and started rolling it up with both of his paws. Once the scroll was finished rolled up the blue drake got up and then waved the scroll in his right paw around as the other Guardians watched on.

Cyril grinned, “So then, the real question is though. Will your little brother Ignite, accept the candidate to be the next Guardian of Fire or will he not?”

Terrador and Volteer both looked towards the red dragon and once former leader and saw him smiling as they themselves already knew what the answer the red dragon would give.

“I think he’ll definitely do it, love. You and I though, just got to ask him directly is all?” Ignitus said warmly.

Chapter VI - Poker Night With Friends
Last in pool
Hey, I'm back yet again and doing very well too. Only two pages left till this story is finished and done with, and yes the next two pages are finished too. I'm doing some editing on them for now and will upload them once I'm done editing them of course.

And sadly no, there will be no smut or lemony goodness this time around.

Enjoy the read!
