Monochrome is Joseph’s fury personified and a manifestation of his father’s constant attempts to push his son into the world of combat before awakening during his time in the super soldier program. While Joseph is not much of a fighter and prefers not to kill, Monochrome is the exact opposite as he can tear someone in half if he felt like it or just rip someone’s head off with little to no effort or empathy. Think of it this way: despite the fact that they’re both on the side of good, Joseph is the angel half between them while Mono is the devil half.
Mono uses various methods of battle, but focuses mainly on melee/close quarters combat as he uses his constructs to primarily make weapons like swords, shurikens, paper bombs, etc. He’s not afraid to use his fists, either. Along with using his paper and art powers to create barriers and shields. His tolerance for pain and healing factor are exceptionally high as well as his leg could be twisted multiple times before fixing themselves. He may not care about what happens to himself, but he knows that Joseph is the one that owns the body and needs to keep him alive. Mono also acts as a sort of protector for Joseph as whenever Joseph feels scared enough to pass out, Mono immediately takes control and slaughters every enemy in the vicinity. Despite all this, he's not devoid of humanity and kindness towards others- he's just far more selective with it than his other self.
Word to the wise: Don’t piss him off unless you have a death wish and your grave is nearby and ready.
