I think it was in So Long and Thanks For the Fish, the fourth book of the Hitchhiker's Guide trilogy, with the giant statue of the protagonist, Arthur Dent, and a giant cup of tea suspended in midair.... That is, the utter surrealism of it for the sake of humor. :)

I also don't remember what book, radio show, tv special, or audio book it was from (all of them are slightly differnt from eachother) ... but the tea, well, he's always wanted tea, and never gotten it.
