Tip from someone with a hilarious knowledge of ancient weaponry... DOUBLE your flail handle length, cut the chain length by half or more. Long chains aren't useful and are fiddly to draw. The most important bits are the shaft for extra speed and power to the flail head while you can get away with nothing but a hinge for the "chain" because all you want it to do is whip around and strike behind a shield/add a little more momentum. You can even round the spikes off into fat dimples if it makes it easier because all they're really there to do is focus the impact on a small area. ANY protrusion can do that.
Edited for silly spelling errors and to add this message. I know a surprisingly large amount about authentic weaponry and armor so if you have questions feel free to ask. Though if you don't want to go the realistic route and just have fun I understand.

I watched your video on YT about drawing this picture. I was really surprised how you went from sketch to lineart in an almost painterly way. Drawing and redrawing and erasing all on the same layer. Found it very interesting.
And I never noticed until then that you achieve fuzzyness on the edges by erasing lines through your lineart.
Great work. Was fun to watch :3
