I have a HUGE spreadsheet that I keep up with character ages for each story. I have names of stores that I used. I have prices of vehicles my characters have bought.
I can't even begin to describe this spreadsheet. I can give some other facts about it though...
93 sheets (not pages, sheets) 105,491 cells with data 1007 pages 1955 formula groups It's had at least 3788 saves in it Over 2009 hours of total editing time I started it on 12/16/2016 (possibly earlier than that) It's 2.17 MB as a LibreOffice file (.ods) It's 4.49 MB as an Excel file
When I save it takes 10 seconds or so to save, as an ODS file
I'm sure there's millions of characters types, like a, b, c, 1, 2, 3, etc. xD
My name/age sheet starts at A1 and goes to EK340. Here's what it looks like, older but still shows everything...
I started this spreadsheet because I kept getting the ages wrong in my early stories. I had Fang at one age in one story and hte next story he was like a year younger... or was it Onai and Luna?... anyway, I had to get ages sorted out fast xD

The ages spreadsheet, is automated, so all I have to do is put in a Birthday at the top, then the story date on the left columns. It sorts out the ages by itself, which is really nice :D

Yeah, it's a lot of work up front, but once you get something you like, it really speeds it up.
The ages formula, it took me months to finally find a formula to work for what I wanted. When I finally got it working right, it was glorious. I cried that it worked xD ... I think I found the formula online but did some extra modifications to it for my stuff.
It's a formula that is hellish looking. I think it would make most people cry, trying to figure it out. I cried while trying to get it all to work xD
