"I Own Nothing" Behold Warlord Kodos, in all his redesigned glory! And with a redesign, comes a new backstory, so sit tight while I give the details.
It was 50 years ago, tensions between the Overlander Federation, and the Mobian Colonies were high, but the promise of the Space Colony ARK and the Ultimate Lifeform kept these tensions bellow the surface. Kodos knew however, war was coming, and began preparing his unit for a fight, hoping beyond hope that they would be ready when war broke out. After the ARK incident came to light, fingers were pointed in many directions, and the tensions boiled over. A Mobian ambassador was shot by an Overlander assassin, which was the start of The Great War. Kodos and his troops were shipped out to the battle, as ready as they could be, only to find themselves vastly overwhelmed by the Overlanders and their military strategy. However this was only an obstacle to be overcome for Kodos, and he rallied his soldiers to him and led a bold charge against the enemy stronghold, taking it after a bloody battle that left plenty of casualties on both sides. However this was only the beginning of Kodos campaign to win the war. Battle after battle, facing daunting odds, Kodos always came out on top, eventually coming up with new ways to overcome the Overlander Strategies that resulted in cleaner wins, more decisive wins, and less loss of Mobian life. During this time the Mobian Leaders began to recognize Kodos as a valuable asset, so he was called back home to Soleanna to be given the official title of Warlord by King Frederick, officially making him the head of the entire Soleanna army, not just a single unit. The tide of the war massively shifted after this, Kodos using his learned strategies on a grander scale led to more Mobian victories, eventually culminating in the final duel, a young Prince Nigel Acorn in a one on one duel with then head of the Overland army Charlemagne, to decide the victor of the war. Kodos took no chances just in case Nigel lost the duel and had his men on standby ready to fight the second he gave the order. This order never came though, as the young Prince was victorious, bringing an end to the war, a clean Mobian victory. After the War, Kodos stayed in the kingdom for a few years, training the army, ready for any future wars that may arise from the bitter Overlanders. However, those wars never came, and when his king died, and Nigel took the throne, Kodos realized the war would never come. It is here Kodos took his most loyal troops and departed the kingdom, looking to gather power and an army to bring the fight to the Overlanders, and finish what the Great War started all those years ago. Now Kodos and his army hide in Aladai, waiting for the perfect moment to strike, when the United Federation is at it's weakest, having no idea that there are people working to stop him from executing this plan, people like Johnny Lightfoot, and soon, his good friend Sonic the Hedgehog.
