I have a squirrel myself. She exploits the system too. Like when I take her out of the cage, if she's already been out for the day once she'll just jump out and onto my chest, but the first time she ALWAYS hides in her sleeping tube and makes me take it out and tip it over so she can snuggle into my hand and get a bunch of pets. Then it's off to my pockets to find treats.
