I'm really happy this picture won the Patreon vote last month, because it feels very personal to me :) There are many reasons why I feel that way, but in short, I really love making pictures with a mood this one has ^^ By the way, I had so much fun working and playing around with the different light sources :D
Oh, and many people say this picture reminds them of Axiom Verge. Maybe because I made a similar fan art for that game in the past, or maybe because that game had a huge impact on me in general :D
And because this was supposed to be a desktop wallpaper, I decided to not put my Patreon logo on it, so it would look nicer as a background :)

wow. the scene per se, the way you play with the light, the tension between the characters, i love all of that.

... for me this can be a version of the dialogue between nemo and the matrix in the last film.

This reminds me of a post apocalyptic short film series on Youtube that I can't recall the name of. Though I think in your case, the situation is not quite so dire.
