As a huge fan of this game and it's music, I'd like to thank you for doing a remix of it. I hope you don't mind if I add my two cents in terms of criticisms.
I think the trumpets are a bit too delayed/reverb-y on the main melody, and the guitar sting after it ends it very subdued to the point of being almost inaudible. The main electric guitar that comes in at around a minute in sounds a bit out of place and the long slide intro to the segment is a bit jarring. The drum beats in the intro sound good, and the background instrumentation keeps the original feel very well, but it needs something to punch it up and really grab your attention in the melody segments. The rhythm section could use something a little grungier like a heavy distorted guitar if you're going the rock route, or if you're going for a more symphonic feel I would change the instrumentation for the second lead and bring in strings instead.
