Basically, my entire cast of mouse characters named after cheeses derive from just one joke: That Mozzarella rhymes with Cinderella. Everything else spiraled out from there, thinking of my favorite cheeses and naming characters after it. The "vibe" I got from the cheese (American/Bleu, Colby, Cheddar, Swiss, and so forth) determined the character's visual design, sex, and personality.
Muenster is a dwarf rat named Nori. As with Nezumi Kamen yesterday, he started off as a direct self-insert but rather than being based on how easily deceived I am by unsavory women he's a more idealized and straightforward hero who rejects temptations of the flesh. He was banished from his rat colony when he became a were-ferret and started disrupting piles of clean laundry and moving coins and other objects around - nobody was hurt and by all accounts he was a very tame ferret, but still a town full of rats can't rest easy with a weasel squeezing its way around their tunnels.
The rat form doesn't have memory or direct control of the ferret, but the ferret doesn't seem capable of doing things outside the scope of what the habits of virtue allow for - it just goes about things on a more reckless and impulsive manner. So much the better, then, that Nori is a chaste, just, and temperate knight! He eventually came into the employ of King Monterey, and developed a relationship with Princess Mozzarella shortly before she is kidnapped by a dragon. This will be the story of an upcoming game I've had in development since 2018 - a screenshot from it can be seen in the upper left corner of my profile banner.
