Whenever Elaina stays with her grandparents she usually spends the night, before bed time, howling at the moon with her "Papa".
Note: In my head young children in a furry world are basically just animals so in Elaina's case she'd have a tendency to do things ordinary dogs would do while she's little and those tendencies fade as they get older. But some of them are held onto as a way of bonding with family, such as howling at the moon.
