"Val in times" = Valentine's Young children tend to pronounce words as they sound to them or as they are able due to an inability to pronounce certain sounds until they are older. In a story I'm writing, I have a two-year-old who talks but she can't pronounce certain words properly. For example, she calls her older sister, Victoria, Bi'tora.
