Yup the Liger's done it again. A new alien species inspired by Gryphons. ^^ As always with new species we'll have a Codex entry for the species and then something on the character himself.

The Grykel are a species possessing both Mammalian and Avian features from the planet Gylana. Grykel have a what is analogous to fur covering their body with it being slightly thicker and denser on the head and tail and more closely resembling feathers when viewed up close. Grykel are warm blooded with a high metabolism. They are quick thinkers excel in creativity and reasoning skills. They are one of the most advanced species in the known galaxy. The gold lines visible beneath their fur are outward manifestations of their extensive nanotechnology. This augments them and allows them to survive in some of the most hostile areas and grants them a number of advantages. Via combination of their nanotechnology and genetic engineering Grykel are also the longest lived species known with life spans in the thousands. It is unknown how old they can live to be or if their is even an upper limit as past reaching physical maturity they do not appear to age externally. Grykel are curious by nature and tend to explore and learn. This said they are fiercely defensive of their own home systems monitoring traffic there closely ready to pounce should anyone attempt to attack them. Culturally the Grykel are very open and accepting of diversity amongst their own. Grykel have all manner of life styles. Grykel clothing is typically minimalistic. Most of the time Grykel can be seen in a simple kilt type garment or shorts and even just an undergarment in hot weather or during sporting activities. The exception to this however is Jewelry. Grykel are most fond of it and typically adorn themselves with all manner of jewelry though they have a preference for gold. Grykel are governed by a council of elected officials who wield most of the power but are lead by the Emperor and Empress. The Grykel Royal family are bred specifically for the task of leadership with health doses of genetic modification.
