It had been a few weeks since Sol started having nightmares, it was always the same dream every night and now Pandora was having the same nightmare as her brother. Sunshine was starting to worry that what the kids were seeing might be more than just bad dreams, what were the odds of both kids having the exact same dream every time?
The father sighs softly as he gets out of bed, leaving his husband and children to continue sleeping soundly together in a cuddly heap. He quietly steps out of the bedroom and heads to Sol and Pandora's room with Ivory and Luna trailing along behind him, something was bothering him about all of this and he had to figure out what it was. Something didn't feel right.
A familiar chill ran down Sunshine's spine as soon as he stepped into the kids' bedroom, something definitely wasn't right here.
Ivory chirps and dives under the nightstand that stood between the two beds, searching for the source of a faint red glow. Luna was phasing in and out of the furniture to help them find anything suspicious.
"What did you find, Ivory?" Sunshine asks as he kneels down and reaches under the nightstand, jumping a bit when he feels the smooth but uneven surface of a gemstone of some kind. Please don't be what he thinks it is...
The hedgehog stares at the small stripped ruby in his hand, too stunned to do anything other than freeze up as a feeling of dread overtakes him.
"He knows where we live..."
~~~A FEW WEEKS LATER~~~
Sunshine tapes up the last box of his family's belongings and carries it out to Manic's van, they decided that it would be safest for them to stay with Sonic's mother at the royal palace until they could find a new place to live, a place far away from where Infinite could find them again.
"That's the last one that I know of, everyone ready to go?" He calls out to his husband and kids.
"Ready! Let's go see Grandma!" Sol giggles while Pandora bounces excitedly beside him. Sunshine smiles at the sight of the two of them together, thankfully they had no idea of the real reason they were leaving their home behind. He could hear the twins squealing and babbling at each other from their car seats inside the van, they had recently turned four months old and were just starting to learn how to use their voices to make various noises at each other when they played together, they were growing up too fast.
He looks up to see Starlight coming over with Ivory asleep in his arms and Luna floating along behind him.
"I'm sorry that this all came up out of the blue, I should have been more aware of what was going on. I still don't know how to tell the kids that we're moving to a new home...they love it here so much and they haven't been here for very long, how will they handle moving somewhere new since the only other home they've ever known besides this one was with Eggman and Infinite?" He sighs.
