his choice in rifle seems counter productive if he wanted to save time on weapon maintenance. I say that mainly because his choice of sidearm is so munch more basic. Glock's can be dependable but generally aren't rated much higher than hi-points. Not shooting down his preferences or anything just seems odd to pick those specific weapons as to stand out of the group when everyone else is probably just running AR's, AK's, or Scars, and something like a Beretta.
