Maybe you've read a lot of shitty stories from shitty writers who use the characters as their mouthpiece. Not all stories convey the actual opinions of the writers. Learn to separate reality from fiction. Depicting something does not mean the writer supports it. I don't care about "what about this person?" I'm not them.

I've fallen on using mouthpiece characters before because sometimes I have a habit of wanting to push my morals out (though it mostly extends to "Hey, let's fucking use consent here.") but it can be frustrating to have a character present an idea and suddenly everyone thinks you back that idea because it's your main character or something.

Like, chill people. Sometimes the curtains are blue for the sake of being blue.

I think that goes back to the old adage of 'separating the art from the artist'. I don't know why people have such a hard time with the concept, but then again a lot of people tend to write stories about themselves and so think others do the same.

Because artists found social media and started cramming lots of insane ideas into their heads and ours. I'm old enough to remember the good old days before this stuff. It was easy to just not care what the artists/actor/author/garbage man believed because they weren't screaming it at you all the time while surrounded by mobs on both sides yelling about how great/bad whatever the thing they're saying is.

As much as I don't like the way your stories end, I still can't believe people equate what characters say/do in your comics to what you actually believe. Like, that is such a dumb mindset to have about any work of art. How can we even have social commentary if we can't talk about perspectives that aren't ours?

That's pretty lame of t hem, yeah. Sorry you're getting hassled so much >_< at least you know most of us on here are understand of this sort of thing! Even when we get into debates they're pretty civil.
