It's my understanding that fursuiters at conventions have special rooms set aside so they can go in, get the suit's head off, and ventilate for a bit, because those fursuits do NOT breathe! I would imagine a robot would benefit from the same type of down time.

Well, of course. But it wouldn't make sense that they need to take their head off from time to time to cool down. They would have some kind of closed-circuit refrigerating system.
