When allies shrink...sometimes you'll find who is really there for ya.

To be fair, I really don't think we can blame Zen on this one. He gve Tini as much as he could.

Zen also didn't feel safe at that point... hard to blame Zen for leaving, yeah Pali?

He was literally in danger, so I think he's clear of blame for sure.

I'm surprised TiNi had the self-awareness to recognise that she was the one who hurt Zen, and didn't spin it as like, "My friend was so toxic and hateful that he rejected and ran away from me".

Consequently, I can only assume that this is a dream sequence.

I don't think this was a dream sequence. My theory is the thought that Zen left was her fault was always in the back of her mind. Not only was it not TiNi's choice for Zen to leave (which differs from everyone else TiNi pushed away) but Zen was scared enough for his life to use illusions to get away.

I think the combination of TiNi getting kicked out of the toxic group over what is likely complete bullshit when she was so devoted to their beliefs, and TiNi realizing how few friends she actually has left just forced her to take the thought that zen leaving was her fault seriously.

I really want a good ending, but I am worried about what the ending will be, and what overarching implications there'll be.

That last panel...that's a really good message.
