It's the day of the Dance, and so everybody's preparing. This particular dance isn't really anything special really - I've based on my school which used to have a disco at the end of each term (semester?). But as it's the first one of the year, all the new kids in the school in Year 7 (the first year of the school, aged around 11-12) are seeing it as something really special, so they're excited about it and making a huge effort for it, whereas the older kids aren't quite as bothered.
