I've been struggling with art and I appreciate every artist that shares their techniques and tips. I will definitely take these into account when drawing next time. I'd be glad to see more helpful advice if you have them. :D

I especially appreciate the eye advice. I'm getting into coloring and eyes are something very important to me; which also gives me creative freedom since more of the line art I color leaves the eyes relatively blank besides a circle.

On a related note, let me know if you'd be okay with me coloring one of your pieces some time. I can always use the practice and I don't share them since I'm still getting the hang of it.

eyes are one of the most important parts of any character drawing! sometimes i worry the way i draw them is too plain;;
still, hope the advice is helpful!

and no problem at all!! i'd be happy to take a look at the result!

with the fourth page,  i do know that some very accomplished and professional cartoonists will make a rough messy sketch first. But after they make the rough sketch, they will make up to 5 more sketches on top, these sketches are made more and more defined with each one added. The rough messy sketch is first because its fast and makes the picture look more loose and settled in the end(according to them at least).

that is 100% true! some incredible artists out there DO start out with messy sketches! i think you can start doing that again once you actually know what you're doing lmao (not really my case;;). it's one of those situations where "you should learn the rules before breaking them (properly)", i think!

These are generally really good but i kinda disagree with the brush stroke shape for lines as Inprefer line variance as a stylistic choice. Same with the rounder pupils, could go either way on that.

What the hell I intentionally wanted to get the thin starting lines because I thought thick ends look like beginner junk.
Aahh doesnt matter I've drawn like crap for over 25 years and I won't get better now.
