Had to leave an RPG in mid quest for work, then things changed and I was able to return after a couple of months. I offered to create a new character, but the GM said "No. You just got lost real bad." So I rejoined the quest as the same character. One of the other players glared at me and said "I thought you died." My answer... "I died, but I came back. Silly me."
